🎅 🎄Toby, 8 years old, of . It was so great seeing our friend Toby at last week’s Doxie Holiday Parade. 🎄🎁 Toby was adopted from in 2022 by and . He’s had a whirlwind 2024 - he just appeared on a limited edition MetroCard collaboration that his dad did with AND he was also featured on the cover of his dad’s new book “New York Nico’s Guide to NYC.”
This book actually makes a PERFECT gift for NYers and non-NYers alike AND you can head into a book store tomorrow to pick one up! We are actually going to drop some other shopping ideas in our stories of last minute gifts you can pick up in person tomorrow (especially if you started your shopping yesterday like we did - LOL.)
We hope everyone’s holiday season is off to a good start!

Adoption Alert: Doobie, 15 years old. This sweet boy ended up in foster care after his owner had a stroke. 🥲 Thankfully, he landed in the foster home of the amazing and is available for adoption through . Doobie was at Sunday’s Doxie Holiday Parade and you might have seen him featured at the parade by , a doxie lover, rescue advocate and proud dad of . ❤️ Doobie’s foster says he’s a perfect gentleman - he’s house trained, gets along with other dogs and is sweet as pie! 🎄🧑‍🎄⛄️Nathan, 9 months old, of .famous.hotdog. Thank you to everyone who came out today for the Doxie Holiday Parade! 🎅🎁🎄 It was so great seeing old friends and meeting new ones, although we always feel a little sad about the friends we didn’t get to meet and talk to!
We were so happy to meet Nathan who is the “brother” of .d, a NYC doxie legend who crossed the 🌈 in 2023. Nathan - you are such a sweetheart and we know you’re helping heal your mom’s heart. ❤️❤️

Zoe, 13 years old. Despite the look on Zoe’s face, we can promise that no dachshunds were harmed in the taking of this 📸. Was there some bribery involved? That’s a possibility. Swipe to Zoe her going for the treat we were holding! 😋 Great meeting you Zoe and we loved your coat!
Speaking of coats - we expect to see lots of festive outerwear this Sunday at the Doxie Holiday Parade (12/15: 12:30pm; Madison Square Park.) Festive coats and sweaters are not required but some form of outward may be necessary depending on the weather (shouldn’t be too cold but we know how doxies can be LOL.) We’ll meet at the north end of the park (near the fountain - NOT in front of the dog run as it gets very congested there!) We can’t wait! 🎄🎄🎉🎉🎁🎁

❤️ALLIE UPDATE!❤️ We wanted to thank everyone who expressed love and concern about Allie. We are so happy to report that after a bout of 🤮and 💩followed by 36 hours of refusing water (!) and food (!!), she has thankfully made a full recovery. ❤️‍🩹 As we prepared to take her to the vet Friday am, she walked into the kitchen and demanded her breakfast - we’ve never been so relieved! She also wanted all the meals she hadn’t eaten over the previous 2 days - with interest - 😂 (she pretty much didn’t leave the kitchen or its perimeter all day.) We are SO RELIEVED our girl is back and are SO GRATEFUL for all the beautiful comments and messages we received! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! 😊😊
And in other happy news, the Doxie Holiday Parade will be happening on Sunday, 12/15, at 12:30pm in Madison Square Park. 🎅 🎄 ⛄️ 🕎 We will be hosting with our friends and - we hope to see you there!

🍁Happy Thanksgiving from Ruby, Cookie and Allie and Dachshunds of NYC🍁 Today has been a tough day - Allie developed a gastrointestinal issue last night so we canceled our plans with family to stay home and take care of our girl. Thankfully, the worst symptoms seem to have abated but we’re watching her closely since dehydration can be an issue. We’re hoping she’ll be back to her old self soon and following us around the kitchen and harassing us for food. 🥺🙏

Lucy, 6 years old, and Buddy, 5 years old. These two are from Russia via London, then Los Angeles, and now New York. We were so busy looking at these two gorgeous pups that we failed to realize that their dad is also a pretty big deal. 😎 After they walked away, someone nearby said “Do you realize who that was?” 😎 (Hint: His extensive movie and tv 🎥 career includes Gone Baby Gone, Argo, Deadwood, Sons of Anarchy, Lost and the title role in the series Bosch/Bosch Legacy.) Never knowing who you might run into/meet is one of the cool things about living in this city! 🏙️

Heidi, 2 years old. Welcome to NYC, Heidi! Heidi was just adopted by an amazing family - swipe to see her with her new brother, Otto, who is 14 years old. Otto has been featured here before with his brother, Fritz (we first met them back in 2018.) Fritz crossed the 🌈 Bridge last year and the family knew that they wanted to adopt another doxie when they were ready. They report that Heidi has adjusted amazingly well to city life and that Otto adores his new sister. We know Fritz is smiling down on them. ❤️

☔️ Olaf, 6 years old. Happy Belated Wirehair Wednesday! It’s been a minute since our last WHW and when we saw our friend Olaf (who has been featured here in the past) in his cute raincoat trying to stay dry, we had to get his pic. Olaf was on a pack walk with a few other dogs so shoutout to his walker for accommodating this impromptu 📸! After a bit of a drought, it was great to finally get some much-needed rain here in NYC (although most of our doxie friends would probably not agree LOL.)

Finnegan, 12 years old. We met this gorgeous boy one day about a week before all the Halloweenie festivities kicked off. We then saw him at ’s Halloweenie event (where he took home a prize in the costume contest 🏆) and then the next day at the Halloweenie Parade! Can’t wait to see you again soon, Finnegan!

Wallis, 5 years old, of .is.wallis. Welp - this is weird - today we ran into Wallis and took his pic! Before walking away, his mom mentioned that we had actually featured him four years ago - ON ELECTION DAY. 🇺🇸 🗳️ We couldn’t believe this coincidence! We checked the post and saw we had made a joke that Wallis was like a “furry Xanax” for everyone who was feeling watching the returns roll in. 😬😬 Literally what are the chances that we would meet him again exactly four years to the day?? Could it be a sign????? Is Wallis not only a furry Xanax but also some kind of foreshadowing?? I guess we will all have to wait and find out!🤞🤞
