The Kentucky Great Dane Rescue is a non-profit organization focused on caring, healing, rescuing and loving Danes in the state of Kentucky and closely surrounding areas. It is supported only by volunteers; all dogs are kept in volunteer foster homes; there is no commercial facility.

We want to help raise awareness of available Great Danes in shelters since we are unfortunately not able to pull as many as we would like due to limited available foster families.

𝗪𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲, 𝗮 𝟱 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗼𝗹𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝘅. She is located at the Lexington Humane Society in Lexington, KY.

𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘂’𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗪𝗮𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮 𝗪𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗬𝗲𝗮𝗿… 𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁! We are looking for someone to Adopt OR Foster-to-Adopt Bleu!

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘂 — a 4-year-old gentle giant with a goofy heart, a love for snuggles, and the soul of a best friend you didn’t know you needed.

This sweet boy has spent over 𝟯𝟲𝟱 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗰𝘂𝗲. That’s a lot of tail wags, couch naps, and hopeful glances out the window waiting for his family. His health is now fully in check, and he’s more than ready to finally go home.

𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂’𝗹𝗹 𝗟𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗲𝘂:

- 𝗞𝗶𝗱 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗱: Lives with a toddler and is incredibly gentle.
Snuggle Pro: If you sit, he sits. On you.
- 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗳𝘂𝗹 & 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆: Loves people, outdoor time, and a soft place to land.
- 𝗖𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲 & 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗱: He’s polite at home and sleeps like a champ.
- 𝗗𝗼𝗴-𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶𝘂𝗺-𝘁𝗼-𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗼𝗴𝘀 (𝘯𝘰 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘭𝘦𝘴, 𝘱𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦).
- 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀: He has improved a lot with his leash training and counter surfing. He is food motivated, so he does well with training and would benefit by continuing his training in his new home.

Chloe is a 4-year-and-7-month-old Great Dane who recently underwent a spay and gastropexy procedure—important preventive steps we take for every intact Dane we bring in. Gastropexy acts as additional preventative against bloat, a life-threatening condition that large-breed dogs like Great Danes are especially prone to. Because of generous donors like you, Chloe was able to get the care she needed. Now, we’re working hard to help more dogs just like her!

Marilyn is a 6.5-year-old Great Dane who’s just as sweet as she is tall! She’s 𝗱𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲, which causes bad breath and sore gums—and if not treated, it can lead to bigger health issues down the road.
