All Aboard Animal Rescue (AAAR) is a rescue group based in Northern Colorado dedicated to rescuing dogs from high kill shelters from areas like Texas and New Mexico. We take these dogs and give them a second chance at life, and connect these dogs with their forever homes. Our rescue is foster based, meaning that our dogs are in home environments until they find that perfect home.

“Jimmy is the most loving and loyal boy ever! He takes a little to adjust to new environments but is very quick to get comfortable. He’s been through so much in his life but still loves with his whole body. He does well in a crate when I’m at work but has some anxiety when left alone. He loves to play and tear up his toys but is very gentle when playing with humans. Jimmy is the definition of a furry best friend.“

Adopt silliest girl, Tundra ! ❄️

From her amazing foster parent:
“Tundra is a sweet & spunky silly little girl. She takes a little bit to warm up to you but once she does you’ll be able to snuggle and play together all the time. She’s great in her crate, both at night and when I’m away. As far as I can tell she’s fully potty trained in our space. We’ve had no accidents in the house. She loooves playing with her toys both alone or with someone. When she gets excited she can nip but I dont doubt that with some training (or aging) she’ll get better with that. When we go on walks she can be a bit hesitant about things but with encouragement and lots of treats we’ve made progress. She definitely does better in a quiet outside environment. Overall Tundra is just a sweet little baby who will make you laugh and smile.”

WE. ARE. NOT. CRYING !!! (🥹😭)
Shoshone is another one of our sweeties who just got to leave a long stay at boarding finally !!! 🎉🎈He landed an awesome foster home with so much land to explore and new friends to meet! We are so proud him and know he is going to make an incredible companion for someone sooo soon.

“Shoshone is doing really good 💕 He’s a super sweet boy and wants to learn I feel like. I taught him how to sit (not sure if he knew how to do that before) but he’s just doing much better!”

Apparently it’s March? 🍀 and our pups are feelin’ lucky!! Here’s a list of our events this month! 🗓

Some FAQs:
🐾 How do I adopt?
The first step in our adoption process is to fill out an adoption application on our website! We will start processing your application within 24hr. You can apply for a specific pet or submit a general application. It may take a few days to fully process your application (may include contacting your vet and/or landlord). We will email you for follow up as well as next steps. Approved applications stay on file for 6 months. To expedite your application process, please email current pet records and proof of homeownership or your lease agreement with pet addendum.

🐾 Can I adopt if my application is still pending?
Finalization planning will begin via email once your application is approved. We are typically only able to complete adoptions at our events for approved adopters. We are not always able to review applications during events, depending on how busy we are. We highly recommend submitting your application early in the week to give the best chance of it being approved by the time of the event on Saturday!

🐾 How do holds work?
Once approved, if you decide to place a $75 hold on a pup, the pup is reserved for you for the first hour of our next adoption event. If you do not arrive by the end of the one-hour hold at the beginning of the adoption event, the animal will be available for other approved adopters. If you place a $50 hold on a kitty, the kitty will be reserved for you for one week while we work on scheduling the meet and greet. The hold fee is non-refundable, but does count toward your pet’s adoption fee! If you decide to adopt a different pet, the hold would be applied to that pet’s adoption fee instead.

This week’s is Murphy formerly known as Dorado!!

Murphy was adopted in March of 2014 by their incredible family!

Here’s what Murphy has been up to since their adoption:
“I somehow convinced my mom to come with me to “just look” at the adoptable dogs at one of your adoption events, and we ended up coming home that day with a 3-month old sleepy baby Murphy! I was 19 at the time and Murph was the first dog I could call mine. Since then, we’ve been through so many phases of life together and have grown up side by side. Murphy is the sweetest, smartest, most gentle-hearted boy, especially when it comes to my series of foster kittens and the one I eventually adopted! I am so incredibly grateful that chance or fate brought him to your rescue and into my life. I’m turning 30 this December and Murph is turning 11, which I truly can’t believe. I cannot imagine how different life would be without him by my side. 🥹”

THANK YOU to all the rescuers, medical team, transporters, fosters, volunteers, and adoptive family involved in finding Murphy his forever home and for the beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. ❤️

URGENT medical funds needed ❤️‍🩹 Our perfect girl, Tortuga has been found to have a hole in her heart, leaving one in ours. 💔

Funds are desperately needed so that Tortuga can undergo a life saving procedure. Her medical diagnosis is a PDA, a heart murmur that would result in failure and 2-3 yr life expectancy if not surgically closed. With surgery she will have a normal life expectancy. Surgery will be extensive and expensive.

This spunky pup’s adventures are just beginning and we are dedicated to getting her through this with the incredible staff at CSU and our veterinary partner. Please considering donating and sharing, as the low end for surgery is at $3,000 at this time. We will provide updates as exact numbers are available. ❤️ We thank you in advance for caring about our deserving Torti’ girl.

We would just like to say that Beam 🌟, arriving Friday DID NOT HAVE TO BE THIS CUTE!

Big mans is gonna ham it up all the way to his forever home!!

Beam is approx. 2 years young and around 70 lbs. Perfect for snuggles. 👍 and loves his doggie pals! This brave boy was lucky enough to survive a severely broken leg, which has since been amputated. Like most dogs who undergo this procedure on a hind leg, Beam doesn’t miss a beat! He hopes to meet you soon and maybe go home with you!! 🐶

Everyone!!! Stop scrolling and look at these PERFECT pictures of Petey on his outing ❤️😍

Petey is our giant puppy who is in search of his forever home! Petey is still working on overcoming his excitement reactivity with his fosters and handlers ❤️

During his outing, Petey got to visit Horsetooth, take car rides, and visit the CSU campus! He even got multiple compliments on how well he was doing hanging out by his handlers 😊

💕Petey is still in need for a long term foster. A foster where he can decompress and show his true personality! He will need an experienced and patient foster to show him how wonderful the world is as he is on his journey to finding his forever home!💕

Betty Lou is hoping to meet the perfect family tomorrow! 🤞 Help us share her post EVERYWHERE so we can get this sweet gal into her happily ever after 💘🐶 She will also need a new foster beginning tomorrow if she doesn’t find that special someone.

“Betty Lou is a sweet baby angel! She is the most lovable, happy dog around. Betty is good with other dogs and loves to give kisses, but doesn’t have much sense of personal space. She listens very well and can get a little confused sometimes and is just full of excitement and curiosity about everything, especially food! Betty Lou can be wary of her surroundings at times, especially in new environments! As long as you make her feel safe she will warm right up. She is ready to find her forever home!”
