My sweet Lucy crossed over the Rainbow Bridge tonight. She would have been 4 years old in August. Lucy was one of my rescues, who suffered a brain injury from a fall out of her nest, when she was just just a few days old. She brought me so much joy and was a wonderful companion to me. You will be truly missed my Lucy Goosie. Run free. 😭❤

LIFE SAVING POOL IDEA

If you have a pool, a really nice and kind life saving idea is a rubber mat attached to the side to allow any animals to escape should they fall in. And if you think, well, I don't have any pets, perhaps you could attach one anyway rather than pulling out a dead squirrel from your pool. Such a simple idea to help local wildlife.

Many orphans can be left a few hours to see if mom comes back...NOT OPOSSUMS! If you see a baby like this one in a yard or anywhere, get it quickly in a little box or pet carrier with a blanket and keep warm and call a wild life rescue. Momma opossum can have up to 13 babies. As they grow, they don't all fit in the pouch so they ride on her back. If something startles her and she runs, one can fall off. Momma doesn't know she lost one so please never ever leave one thinking mom will come back

My Lucy is 3 years old today. She is non releasable due to a head injury from falling out of a tree at birth. She has come a long way and is such a lovey. Happy Birthday Lucy.

If you see an opossum hit by a car or dead, please check the pouch for babies! Then contact your wildlife rehab nearest you. Keep them warm, DO NOT FEED!
