And that’s a wrap!

It was a joy to watch all of these amazing handlers and their dogs. Talk about a masterclass in stock work! These sheep took the best handlers and their best dogs, and sometimes a stroke of luck or the decision making of a single ewe changed everything! It was incredible to watch!

Anyone interested in herding should take the time to watch some of the open dogs in the final day. Watch the handlers put their dog here, then, here, move the sheep this way, tuck a head that way.

These sheep tested everyone and it was a joy to watch the problem solving. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn’t. We were all rooting for these dogs and these handlers to out wit these sneaky ewes!

I will 100% be back! Goodbye Afton for now

After days of boring leash walks, toes ours and crate time, I thought the dogs deserved some fun time. We drove them into the nearby mountains (which are actually in Idaho) and found a trail with a creek and everyone ran and splashed and cavorted. ❤️❤️

We already ran both dogs this am.

Tagg did an outstanding job! We missed the fetch panels on the first pass but picked them up on the second. She did a lovely job coming around the post.

Once again the sheep were getting buggered up by 3, and it took us some time but she held her ground and her emotions and got through 3.

We actually hit 4 - a floating Y chute after a cross drive - pretty easily. Tagg didn’t want to let them out of the chute and one really wanted to cut back so it took some negotiation to get unstuck from 4.

We were lining out the pen when the buzzer sounded and we timed-out.

I couldn’t be prouder of Tagg’s run! She did an incredible job with these exceptionally difficult sheep.

Cody missed the fetch panels, and we tried again but her heart wasn’t up to fighting these sheep, so I called her run, she got to fetch and re-pen, her favorite things.

I’m incredibly proud of both of my dogs! ❤️❤️🐑🐑🐑
