Luna has moved into my gold program for sports dogs. This was the maniac cattle dog with human and dog reactivity stemming largely from over arousal (bat sh*ttery). She’s come a long way and now we’re moving forward, putting her crazy to work! ❤️❤️

Spark fell in love with this stuffed otter from the moment she saw it. She finds it the second she leaves her crate in the morning, or comes in from rampaging. The battle is relentless and I’m not sure who’s winning ❤️❤️🔥🔥

We have really good news on Tagg. Radiographs reveal arthritic changes in the spine. Those changes coupled with likely blunt force trauma (being crashed into by another dog) likely exacerbated recent localized swelling, and caused an intervertebral disc to bump up against the spinal cord, causing extreme pain and rear limb paralysis.

Short term, she still has a ways to go before she’s back to her old self. She remains on anti-inflammatories, pain control, and anti anxiety medications, she is getting alternating cold pack and cold laser therapies twice daily.

Long term, if she fully recovers, she should be able to go back to doing Tagg things. She will be retired from dock diving, and working adult cattle, but will continue to work sheep.

Thank you everyone for your good thoughts. It’s been a tough week, but it looks like a full recovery is probable ❤️🤞

Tagg sustained some sort of spinal injury this evening. She was rampaging and collapsed suddenly, screaming in pain, and unable to move either hind limb. I carried her inside and immediately consulted several veterinary professionals. She is on cage rest for at minimum 45 days, and she’s on anti-inflammatories and a neuro painkiller, anti-anxiolytic and sedative. I’ve ice packed her, and will start cold laser therapy tomorrow. Hopefully the damage is minimal and can be reversed. ❤️

Opal struggles with a world filled with random people. Her go-to behavior is lunging and barking non-stop. She will escalate to defending her space if she feels it’s required. This is her first time in public showing off her new skills. We will slowly move her closer to the walking path until she can tolerate passers by at 6-10 feet. Good job Opal! ❤️

Brisco ran nursery today against four border collies. He had an outstanding run and was the only dog to capture all the available points. Brisco won first place, and earned enough points to go to the sheep dog finals in Wyoming in June! Great job, Brisco!! ❤️❤️🐑🐑n
