You go away and have to leave them - that alone can get MANY pets confused, depressed or traumatized. Put them in a new environment – especially a cramped kennel or a cage where they can't be free to roam or receive lots of attention –
that can REALLY trigger things in them also
(ESPECIALLY Rescue Pets that already have abandonment issues)!! You can lessen that trauma by leaving your loved one(s) in their OWN environment•home•bed with someone that TRULY cares for them and will give them and your home LOTS of love and attention!!! Animals are such GREAT teachers to us!

#2 – they’re there for us whenever WE’RE needing some extra lovin’!!! Usually you don’t have to do a darn thing to get that from them! Have your or your friends past experiences with Pet•House Sitters been less than your expected or worse? I help keep their schedule, I walk them 1+ times a day (I can use the exercise so I LOVE doing this!!) and give them EXTRA love/attention by holding•helping them through the separation. SLEEPING WITH ME IS OK
If they need to sleep with someone, I’m ok with that – anything that helps them feel more secure! SKYPE CHECK-IN CALLS TO YOU!! Many OWNERS get their own Separation Anxiety so if you can get one a computer with http://Skype.com (I can help you set it up if you don’t have it) you can call whenever you want so you can connect with your babies. Your Pooch - NICE & CLEAN WHEN YOU RETURN! And, if your dog allows me to, I’ll even give them a nice warm bath the day you return so they’re nice and fresh for you!! (I actually am often able to get pets that get crazy at bath time - just walk on in!!)

Just back from taking Guapa to get spade and walking her around San Juan del Sur a bit because she's never really been walking on a leash and we have a lot of work to do to get her ready for Rescate Peludos to find her a new forever home. She's a real sweetie and a love bug. But she's about 2 years old or so and has a lot of energy. And she still uses her teeth a lot. Not biting but just to play. But then I just say "besos" which means kisses and she kisses kisses
What gets me is all those insensitive self absorbed people that don't get/realize this, They think/say YOU'RE being selfish by saying to care/think about/protect the dogs but what about ALL the people that were forced/chose to go into the military and see and do the horrific things that they were and the consequences that they still pay from that and things like fireworks and thunder MEGA trigger them just for a few minutes of "excitement"/beauty.
Hey I get it I used to love love Fireworks until I became more conscious and realized what it does to so many animals and people and now I can't even watch them without literally my stomach turning so strongly knowing that out there there are others that are suffering so so deeply.
PLEASE I BEG OF YOU to RECONSIDER what ALL it does and to others. If you feel you must participate in them then at least try to protect those around you that are suffering and they may not let you know they're suffering especially if they are previous military people or also people who were physically abused as children that where there was sudden noise or action that happened to them.
If you know anyone with PTSD just trust that there's a really good chance that they're going to be triggered by this and they might be reacting in ways that are not positive whether they vocalize it or internalize it or heavily drink that day or during that activity understand that if you've allowed it to happen by participating you have also added to their hell!
Later today I will update my list of things suggestions for the animals at least because I have known personally many animals that have disappeared - some forever. I have known animals that have died out of a heart attack because of fireworks and Thunder.

WTH??!!! NEW REQUIREMENTS for TRAVELING WITH YOUR DOG THROUGH the U.S. STARTING AUGUST 1, 2024!!!
Dogs entering or returning to the United States must meet NEW SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS -
• Depending on where they have been in the 6 months before entering the U.S. & where they received their rabies vaccines.
• All dogs must be at least 6 months of age.
• Have an implanted International Organization for Standardization (ISO)-compatible microchip (this MUST have been implanted prior to any required rabies vaccination. Microchip number must be documented on all required forms and in all accompanying veterinary records).
• Appear healthy upon arrival
• In addition to other mandatory documentation.

To help get Marlo more active, his Veterinarian - the AWESOME MEGA CARING • CONSCIOUS & DETAILED Dr. ANNA HERNDON suggested his "Mom" get him a tire on a rope & this video show's him going CRAZY for it!!!! He SOOOO LOVES IT!!!! After 15 minutes he was down for the count & is STILL panting like crazy & drinking LOTS of water 30 minutes later!!! I think we've found a way to trim him down more & not tear up plants, concrete, the house - anything he can get his mouth & inactive body on!) FYI - Marlo is such a BIG (140 pounds•63 kilos) love bug with a head bigger than a humans that looks MEGA intimidating when you first meet him - especially because he has a bad ass growl - but he LOVE HUMANS - just HATES other dogs other than his "brother" - the 7 kilo Odie. So needless to say, he can't go out onto the streets for a walk & he's just not real active (unless there's a rope around! Then he LOVES to play "Keep Away"•Tag!). This precious pooch (Nina) was a big old broad that hardly ever went out outside let alone for walks so even though it wasn't required of me when I was Pet Sitting her for 3 weeks, I started taking her out (usually 3-5 times a day). The house kitty (more black in her - Blu) hardly would come to anyone but her mommy. But once I got my "magical hands" on her with massages - she was my buddy! The other kitty (more grey - Catness) was a street cat that they fed but NO ONE had been able to hold or love on her as she was afraid of people. So I'd take Nina out for a stroll as much as she'd let me & next thing you know, suddenly on our night walks, Blu started joining us & then Catness did - for the WHOLE walk!! It was SOOO FUNNY & sweet!!! FYI - I FINALLY was able to catch Catness the last night & held her & massaged her for over 20 minutes & the next day - nearly an hour!!!
