Amigos, I am exhausted, and I must say a little disappointed in Mamá today. I spent THE WHOLE MORNING hunting El Ratón in the basement. I showed her where he was. I had her pull everything off the shelves so I could catch him. When that sneaky mouse ran to a different spot, I had to yell at her CONTINUOUSLY for 15 minutes before she would bother herself to move boxes out of my way. When he escaped again, SHE LEFT. So disappointing, Mamá. I thought I had trained you better than that .-----( So, dudes and dudettes, I'm now accepting applications for ratón hunting partner. Amigos, I have only two requirements for applicants: opposable thumbs, and YOU MUST NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE UP until that mouse is mine!

Amigos, I'm running in my first 5K race! It's to raise money to find a cure for brain cancer, so it's very serious. I begged Mamá to sign me up, even though there's no category for dogs--BAD RACE MANAGERS! So she did, 'cause you guys know I have her wrapped around my toe jajaja. I'll get an official race shirt and an official race bib, and when I raise a million dollars I'll probably get a medal, too, don't you think? But even if I don't get a medal, that's okay as long as I can help find a cure for brain cancer. Amigos, would you consider sponsoring me? I'd so much appreciated it if you could. Dudes, I am exhausted tonight. I spent the weekend running 100-yard dashes, or as Mamá calls them, fast cats. Amigos, that makes no sense. There were no cats, only dogs, only FAST DOGS, MAMÁ! NO CATS!

Anyway, I got a bunch of ribbons and some new initials that go on the end of my name. Amigos, you may now call me El Zeus JC BCAT. And from now on, Mamá, if you want me to come back into the house when you call, you will have to use my FULL NAME!

(Dudes and dudettes, you guys can still just call me Zeus. But don't tell Mamá!)

Hola, dudes and dudettes! Mamá has finally allowed me back on Facebook. She caught me spamming the galgo rescues and made me stay off for months! It was just a joke, dudes, I was just making fun of all the outfits their humans make them wear, but some hounds have no sense of humor I guess lol. Anyway, I was so bored all winter because I had a sore leg, and Mamá refused to let me run or play or zoom, so I had to find some way to entertain myself, right?

Mamá took me in to a new veterinarian who started me on physical therapy for my biceps tendon. (That´s in my shoulder, just in case you didn´t know!) Mamá took pictures and a video. I don´t know why she´s laughing at me--mean, mean Mamá!

Amigos! Dudes! Something exciting happened today--a total eclipse of the sun! I'm not sure what that means, but all the humans were excited about it, so I guess it was a big deal. I had to humor Mamá and Papá and hold still so they could take a picture of me with some dorky sunglasses, and no, they weren't even Ray Bans, dudes! You can see how exciting it was for us perros by the reaction of my amiga, Roxie. Whatever, dudes, it was just fun to have everyone together outside for the afternoon!

Amigos, last night I met a skunk. As chief guardian (since my brother Max seems to have no interest in the job), I barked to go out at midnight when I heard the intruder outside. When I gave that little black and white rodent a piece of my mind, he had the nerve to butt-spray me!! Luckily I am fast (Mamá says luckily the skunk was just giving me a polite warning) and I sprang away, but I still got butt-spray all over my face. Dudes, I was drooling and shaking my head and tried to wipe it off on the carpet. Papá was freaking out, and Mamá picked me up and put me in the tub and hosed off my face and mouth. I think she gave me a bath, too, but I was too upset to notice. After awhile I started to feel better, and this morning I have just the right amount of eau de skunk left to smell pretty good, amigos! And my cat brother Oliver appreciated the butt-spray I wiped off on the carpet, 'cause he got to roll and rub on it and now smells pretty good, too!

Amigos, I had the most awesome weekend. We went on a road trip, and I got to show off my running style to lots of other sighthounds and their people at a THREE-DAY lure coursing event. I got to sleep in a hotel (on the bed, of course!) at night, but I had to rest in a kennel during the day--yuck. I wanted to be out running with the other hounds!

Dudes, you'll never believe it, but I got to meet another Spanish hound named Chango who was also rescued by Podenco Friends! He lives in Colorado now, and it was great to be able to talk a little perro español with him!

I also met another one-eyed runner named Khaos, a super-fast and very nice whippet who was chosen to wear the Rainbow Blanket and run the Rainbow Run in memory of special people and special dogs. Great job, amigo!

Between runs I got to walk around with Mamá and meet some new people. Tío Larry introduced me to hamburger (Mamá, why haven't you ever told me about hamburger??), and I turned up the Podenco Charm for Tío Casey who finally succumbed and gave me a dog biscuit haha! Tía Irva parked next to us and was so nice to Mamá, but I told Mamá of course she's nice, she has Ibizans! Tía Irva also gave Mamá a new treat for me called a Tray-key-ya. Strange name, amigos, but when Mamá gave it to me at home, I ran around the yard about a hundred times with it before I could calm myself down to eat it! And Tía Kim gave me a whole can of oily sardines after my last run on the last day when I was so exhausted. Dudes, I needed that!

I didn't know it, but I guess I was being tested while I was chasing that lure around the field, because Mamá says I've passed the tests and am now officially a Junior Courser and a Certified Courser. Yay for me!

Dudes, I had so much fun! I got to meet so many other dogs who like to play like me, I got to snuggle with some really nice new human friends, and I got to run, run, run, and run some more! Let's do it again, okay Mamá?

Amigos, can you believe it's been two whole years since I moved from Spain into my new home in Utah? Me neither! Mama took me on a cool walk in a new place for my Gotcha Day. Dudes, it looks like Mordor in the pics, but it wasn't that bad! I hope Mama takes me back there, because there were lots of burrows to dig out!

Dudes! Dudettes! Amigos! Spring is here, and Mamá and I went to the most exciting place! We went to try lure chasing!! Amigos, I had to wait and watch at least a million other dogs chase AND NEVER CATCH that lure, I tell you it was driving me nuts. But when I got my turn, I couldn't catch it either, not until it got tired and THEN I caught it!

Dudes, I got to meet tons of other dogs--greyhounds, whippets, salukis, Irish wolfhounds, Rhodesian ridgebacks, German shepherds, pugs, poodles, a handsome Dalmatian, and there was even an Ibizan hound! And Mamá met lots of nice people, too. She told me since we had so much fun we'll do it again!
