Pearl made the journey up from Virginia and finally went home to her waiting Forever Home this past weekend. Here she is, the tricolor on the left, heading out with her new family and new hound friend, NECR Alum 'Charlie'. Pearl was found with a broken leg in Nottoway County VA back in May. With the help of many rescuers in Virginia, she was x-rayed, bandaged, fostered and cared for until her leg healed and she could be spayed and readied for the trip north. Photos in Comments. Pearl's broken leg has healed and she's doing great - loves playing with the puppies at her foster home in Virginia. Pearl has come a long way from her tough start , found abandoned with a broken leg. She is felling much more settled in a home environment, walking on a leash and meeting new people. KitKat was off to the vet last week in preparation for her transport north to our rescue. She's sweet, friendly and gentle. Even though she's a bit tentative in new situations that tail is always wagging! KitKat is one of three hound sisters that were all dumped in rural Central Virginia.
