Also known as the Puss Caterpillar, Flannel Moth caterpillar, Stinging caterpillar. They can be brown, black or yellow, greenish. There is a venom that is found in that cute fuzz. Usually if a pet is bold enough to touch one or even pick it up in their mouth, they will soon start limping, licking at the foot, possibly drooling and rubbing at the face. Try to wash the foot and/ or rinse the mouth with water. Contact your veterinarian if your pet has swelling anywhere or is vomiting or having problems breathing.
