Whisky's official bio:
UTD on vaccinations, and weighs 43 lbs. She was found as a stray with at least one other female thought to be her sister. Based on her appearance, she had been through a lot as she had serious wounds when the shelter picked her up but she has since healed.
Whisky has a very endearing, cute personality.
She is cautious of strangers but with proper introductions and some treats, she will become your best friend quickly. She bonds very tightly to her humans and will follow them everywhere (even to the bathroom). She is not cat tested but has a keen interest in moving critters outside such as squirrels and bunnies. She is still a puppy and can be rough so will not be placed in a home with small children under 12. She ignores the other dogs in the foster home except for the young female that is very intense - Whisky can sometimes get amped up because she feeds off of that dog's energy but with supervsion, they are fine.
Whisky is not high drive. Her foster mom takes her for hikes and when Whisky gets home, she will easily relax. She is very content to sit at your feet and chew on a marrow bone while you watch TV, work on the computer, or read a book.
Whisky apparently never played with toys so she is not keen on fetch at this point. She likes to chase a ball but as soon as it stops moving, she doesn't know what to do with it. So not a lot of toy drive at the moment but she is highly food motivated and will enthusiastically work for it!
She is great on leash and does not pull. She knows sit, down, and drop it. She knows how to relax on cue and will scoot backwards to get your attention that she is doing such a good job of it - it is very cute! Sit is her default behavior - if she is in a situation where she doesn't know what to do, she does a really cute 'at attention' sit. She is happy to get into her crate when asked.
She was not house trained when she came to her current foster but the foster mom has been working with her

CHANCE is a handsome boy who needs a new loving home. He doesn't have a sad story, but ended up being surrendered to Strayhaven Animal Shelter.
CHANCE lived, mostly, outside, but was well cared for, he is friendly and has done well with meet & greets. He is vetted, neutered, and adoptable!
CHANCE (Casanova, as he is called by his favorite volunteer, Jayme) loves to be with his human.
A very special thank you to Kristin Boyd, for arranging their surrender, transporting to vet & Strayhaven, helping with photos, raising money for neuter, vetting, shots, and so much, much more!
A special thank you to Kelli Rhoderick (Strayhaven manager) for taking the boys and giving them great care. She's the best!
And last, but not least, thank you to Jayme Bochy for visiting and loving on them, taking for walks, playing, taking photos, sharing, and sending me regular updates and photos! (Many, many of her photos and videos are in this video!! This video never could have happened without her contributions!)
Please contact Strayhaven Animal Shelter if you are interested in adopting!

MAX is fun, loves to be with you on the couch, loves his bones and is very friendly. He will make an awesome companion. He is working on his manners and leash manners, but is not hard to walk and his manners aren't all that bad. He is a joy to be around. Just an all-around happy boy. ❤
Buckeye's Missions and Sanctuary is in Brunswick, OH and MAX is in Girard, OH.

MAX & GUMBO live in Girard, Ohio. They are siblings, but haven't always lived together and are not bonded.
Please contact Buckeye's Missions and Sanctuary if interested in one of these friendly boys.
Each has a different personality, & are 9 year old mixed breed, neutered boys who appear to be Labrador Retriever mixes. They are both about 50-52 pounds and very people friendly, and both have been in social groups while being borded at a boarding kennel. The owner does not know about cats, though she has 3, they are kept seperated.
GUMBO is silly, funny, active, and is learning his manners. You'd never know he was 9 years old, if he wasn't starting to gray. He loves his toys.
MAX is more laid back and acts his age. He loves his bones.
They have lived outside until November of 2020 and their current owner has been working on indoor manners since then.
They are neutered and vetting is kept current.
GUMBO & MAX need new loving homes. ❤
