Before i came up Jake said he had to fuss at him for trying to climb in the trough with them 😂

Small informationion video on lameness. Sundance has not had an abcess in several years but has developed one recently. He has been lame about a week. Its been colder than normal this winter with a lot of frozen ground, so that could be a contributing factor. We removed his cast and glue on shoe today and put a shoe on backwards (with some cut off it) he was much less lame. He is much sounder in this video than he was this morning. The equicast is great for holding on shoes, but has drawbacks. Long term it causes heel contraction and it doesn't allow the hoof to expand properly when walking. Sundances abcess is going to drain in front if his frog and from the soft tissue on his heel.
Durango was sound yesterday. This morning he was very lame on his right leg. This is his good foot. His issue is not hoof related. He has some swelling on the sides of his cannon but we suspect his pain is coming from his shoulder. This video is just so you can see how the lameness for foot pain looks different than lameness for shoulder (most likely) pain. Notice he drags his toe and doesn't want to lift the leg.
