People need to ask themselves, what would a Wolf eat.

For the best outcome, keep the dog intact and feed a species specific diet, just like they do at all the Zoo's.

In case you are thinking of neutering your Shepherd, don't.

Neutering is against German Welfare law, unless medically necessary, or purposed.

Consider this, if you are considering removing a dog's te**es. Neutering is the number one driver of cancer, because the body requires all the hormones for vital body functions, like DNA repair, and brain functions.

Also, be skeptical of anyone pushing for and most veterinarians won't tell you the truth, because it would negatively affect their income.
So who do you ask... You ask ANY proper K9 trainer, or your doctor, because the canine endocrine system is practically the same as ours.
Now imagine what would happen to you, if you weren't provided with hormone therapy, after removing your testicles or ovaries.

Dogs don't get hormone therapy, so the adrenaline gland has to try and make up for the loss of hormones, mostly testosterone, but it can't make enough.
This is where the imbalance happens, and what causes an increased fear response in male dogs.
Such as, fear of fireworks and thunder, which I call shot-scared, direct translation for the Swedish word skotträdd and a huge FAIL for a German Shepherd The German Shepherd Page For Questions, Training, and Adoptions .

Also, whenever my dog would get attacked put of the blue, for no apparent reason, it was almost always a neutered male.
Fear aggression happens when a dog feels threatened, for itself, or for the owner.
