Every athlete deserves to be safe and supported. US Equestrian is committed to ensuring that every athlete gets the opportunity to enjoy equestrian sports free from abuse.

US Equestrian encourages all parents/guardians and our minor athletes to take the free training courses that are offered by the U.S. Center for SafeSport. These courses are tailored for each group. The Parent’s Guide to Misconduct in Sport is a 30-minute training video that educates parents on recognizing, responding to, and preventing abuse and misconduct in your child’s sport setting. You will come away equipped with information and tactics to minimize risks of harm, You will also learn what helps create a safe sport environment for your children and what resources are available for reporting.

In addition to the training module for parents/guardians, we encourage viewing The Center’s webpage for Parents and Guardians. This webpage includes important topics and resources, including the Parent and Guardian's Handbook for Safer Sport. This handbook provides information and resources to help parents understand the different types of abuse and misconduct, as well as provides tools and tips for talking to their child about sexual and emotional abuse.

The U.S. Center for SafeSport also provides training modules for minor athletes.

If you are between the ages of 13-17, the Center provides a 15-minute course that is focused on bullying prevention, supporting friends who have experienced abuse or misconduct, and resources for reporting.

For those athletes between the ages of 5-12, the Center provides a 15-minute course that helps minors know the difference between discipline and abuse and encourages them to reach out to a trusted adult when something is not right. It also stresses the importance of positive sportsmanship and having a healthy sport environment focused on fun and safety.

In August 2020, the USEA Board of Governors approved the creation of the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) as an official program of the USEA. The mission of IEL is to bring together junior riders with a common interest and provide a supportive community through which students can continue to pursue their riding interests. This program will encourage team camaraderie and will give junior members a chance to compete in a team atmosphere. This program will also help provide a pathway for those riders who seek to be part of a collegiate eventing program as they graduate high school.

The goal of the IEL is to increase membership, education, and engagement in riders on a national level who are in 5th through 12th grade.

Full Moon Farm is proud to be an IEL eventing club and host three IEL team challenges in 2025!

Ms. Karen and Ms. Christine will be hosting annual office hours for anyone looking for a 20-minute window of discuss of individual plans for their riding future. We’re happy to discuss riding goals, competition ambitions, horse owning/leasing questions or more.

Congratulations to our high school IEA team who placed first at their home show today! Huge shout out to these girls not only for their great rides but also for running a very smooth and efficient show. It’s a huge job especially for a small team, but we have the best riders, parents, and volunteers! Also a huge thank you to the other teams who stepped up and helped us out, we couldn’t do it without you!

As we head further into the fall & winter season, there are many volunteer opportunities coming up quickly. From Equitation Team shows to holidays, there are plenty of dates that we’ll need some extra hands at the barn! Whether you can do an hour or all day, your help will be appreciated— even if you feel like you’re not experienced enough, there are plenty of tasks you can help with. 🙂

Please join us this Friday from 5-9pm to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Full Moon Farm. From our beginnings as a small lesson barn in 1994, to our first recognized Horse Trials in 2013, to our non-profit endeavors in 2024, there is so much to commemorate.

Schooling is open in the Big XC field at Full Moon Farm! The tracks are marked and aggravated. The water jump is filled. Banks, ditches, mounds... tiny logs and big tables... What more could you need?

We are opening up to 20 slots for holiday photos on Sunday 12/15 starting at 2:30PM! These can include family, a FMF horse, and pets and will be ready just in time to be a holiday gift. You can use the FMF horse of your choice for the photos. This year we have two packages! $95 for 3-6 final images and a 10 minute time slot or $160 for 6-8 final images and a 15 minute time slot. To sign up for a time slot, email [email protected].

Payment will need to be received in full via Venmo to Kimberly-Dean-1. If you do not have Venmo, just communicate with Katrina about an alternate payment method.
