Michael has come a long ways since he showed up with a catch rope and jumped at every touch. You couldn’t go into the stall without him spinning around and freaking out. He had a sign that read “do not handle if your name isn’t Paige” on his stall for a while. He now goes out in a field with friends (without a catch rope), he stands for his feet to be done, he enjoys grooming sessions, and is working through his ground work. He thought the surcingle was a snake at first but didn’t lift a foot wrong once it was actually strapped on. He’s going to make someone a strapping little trail horse someday!

In March 2022 sent a little formerly free roaming yearling to us. His name was Coffee and he quickly became a farm favorite. Once he calmed down into civilized life he realized that people are kind and provide shelter and food and loving scratches. He went on to be adopted by some lovely people.

His adopters have spent the last couple years letting him grow and mature and continuing his groundwork training. He has been sat on and walked around even! Now named Coffee Beane and affectionately called “Beane”. He is back in training to finish off his under saddle work. We are so excited to have Beane back with us! Beane has started bootcamp with some groundwork but soon will be under saddle and ready to rock and roll with some new knowledge. We are so thankful that his adopters trusted us enough to send him back to get started!

I can’t believe that this 2021 Bernardini gelding is still available! Montevallo is such a sweet boy. He retired from racing in July with a slab fracture to the knee. It has since been fully rehabbed and he is ready to go any direction. He’s an easy keeper with a solid build and a great mind. Literally cannot ask for more.

Montevallo is available for adoption through

***update!!! ADOPTED***

Not sure why the words didn’t post earlier 🤷🏼‍♀️

Will Virginia Dare “Ginny”

Ginny is sweet mare who retired from racing in October. She has had time to be let down and learn how to be a horse again. She’s enjoying her quieter days off the racetrack.

Ginny has been working on softness through the poll and body, cadence in her gaits, and beginning stages of ground tying. Ginny is a sweet gal and is RRP 2025 eligible and is adoptable through !

I would say that this past week has been especially “not glamorous”. If only you could see my windburns face and dried out hands 😂

Being an equestrian is often idealized as glamorous and effortless, with visions of seamless bonds and picturesque rides. In reality, it’s a demanding lifestyle of early mornings, physical labor, and emotional resilience. Building a connection with a horse takes years of patience, and competitions require immense time, money, and grit.

Horses are powerful, unpredictable animals, and caring for them demands humility and adaptability. Despite the challenges, equestrianism is deeply rewarding. The hard work builds resilience, the setbacks teach perseverance, and the fleeting, perfect moments of connection make every struggle worthwhile. It’s not about chasing glamour—it’s about embracing the journey.

We hope you are staying warm and cozy this week! We have been busy with damage control from the ice storm but all ponies are doing well so far. They were very happy to come into their cozy stalls last night to get out of the ice rain that had started. They were less pleased to go out this morning. But I told them I had to clean and fluff their beds so they could come back in to tidy rooms for the night. They obliged and all went without too much fuss. Except Moxie who, although a formerly free roaming, tough mare who is used to fending for herself, she had quite a few opinions about walking out on to the ice covered snow 😂

Every time you step into the arena, remember this: you are mastering one of the most beautiful and complex forms of art and sport. Dressage is not just about perfection; it's about connection, grace, and growth.

You have chosen to communicate with a powerful, majestic animal through harmony and trust. That alone is extraordinary. Progress in dressage is not measured by a judge’s score but by the partnership you build with your horse, stride by stride.

Mistakes are not failures; they are stepping stones. Each challenge teaches you something new, sharpens your skills, and makes you stronger. Great riders weren’t born perfect—they grew through persistence, passion, and resilience, just like you are doing now.

Believe in yourself, trust your horse, and honor the journey. You belong in the saddle. You are capable of greatness. Ride boldly, with heart and confidence, because every ride is a victory in itself.

You've got this.

Merry Christmas to all our friends and family 🎄
This is one of our favorite times of year as we reflect on our Saviors birth and all the ways that He has showed up this year. We have had such a fun year of growth- it wasn’t always easy, growth is difficult at times but it makes us stronger and wiser. We cannot wait to see what next year holds! We are so thankful for each of our dear clients who continue to encourage and walk beside us through this wild journey.

We are so excited to announce that Trigger has found his forever home! Mr. F has always wanted a palomino and this year his wife gave him the perfect Christmas gift. Trigger will be trail riding around their farm and giving riding lessons to grandkids and hanging with a donkey and a horse friend. The absolute perfect life for him.

We hope Trigger brings you many years of joy and lots of pony snuggles!

Montevallo is a 2021 Bernardini gelding who is RRP eligible. He is adoptable through

Monty has been so much fun to have in the barn. He is willing to learn and wants to find all the right answers. He is working through some typical racehorse stiffness undersaddle but he’s putting in the effort. He has a beautiful big strided canter and a snappy trot. He was retired from racing in July with a slab fracture to his knee but it has been fully rehabbed and he is ready to progress with training. He has a kind puppy dog personality. He will be so much fun to bring along!

Will Virginia Dare (Ginny) is a 2020 Get Stormy filly that is available for adoption through
Ginny IS RRP eligible! She is such a sweet girl and is trying so hard to learn the ropes of being an OTTB. She is settling in nicely and is pleasant to work with. She is still working on figuring out the difference between a relaxed canter and a stiff gallop but she’s trying to put in the effort and work through. She will make someone a wonderful RRP project or don’t go the RRP route and she’ll make a great sport horse or partner in any discipline.

Alright friends help me find Trigger a good home! Trigger belongs to some family friends who love him dearly but their kids have grown up and moved on to other interests so he’s not getting as much attention anymore. They want to find him a home who will love him like they do but also be able to give him a job.

Positives: Trigger excels on the trails. He is brave and willing to plod down the trail all day. He has the smoothest lope. He is kind natured and stands politely for grooming and farrier work. Loads into a trailer like a total champ. The prettiest coloring 🤩

Full disclosure on the Negatives: Trigger has a history of mild laminitic flairs. He is also most likely metabolic and will need to be started on medication to manage his condition. A dry lot or muzzle is necessary. We will get him tested soon to be sure but he has all the typical indications of a metabolic horse.

He is currently barefoot but he is about as flat soled as it gets and will be more comfortable plodding across rocky terrain with shoes or boots on.

Trigger will be at our Christmas open house tomorrow. Come by and see him!

Little Knuckles has been putting in good effort lately. He’s starting to show us his goofy personality through his thoughtful interactions. This 2 yr old has been wearing a blanket and saddle and has handled it all with ease. He had his first full trim a couple weeks ago and he stood bravely and quietly. Some of his favorite things include: soft treats, his adoptive “mama” Caviar, boy games with Fuego, scratches behind his ear. It is so fun to watch these emaciated and terrified feral horses turn into healthy and happy domesticated partners.

Knuckles will be available for adoption from Kentucky Humane Society Equine CARE when he has a bit more knowledge under his belt.

In case you’re wondering who actually runs the farm- it’s Billy Bob. Billy Bob makes us aware when we’re late for dinner, tells the feral brats to shape up, tells the young colts who is boss, somehow asserts himself over recently gelded teenagers. But yet somehow he still manages to have the kindest and gentlest heart with people from all kinds of backgrounds and experiences. He’s truly one of a kind and the absolute KING of this farm 👑
