Thanks for being followers of Matisse. He will never be forgotten or replaced. In fact, I had a very vivid dream about him last night. He was larger than life and it was so good to see him. I have a young stallion named Julian who is growing up so nicely. I have created a new page for him and hope to make him as successful as Matisse was. I also hope to start breeding Matisse babies to Julian to make the next generation of Matisse grand babies! 💗 Please follow his page to see his journey unfold. 😊

Welcome to Julian’s new page!! Julian is a 2019 KFPS Friesian stallion by Teade 392. He is my dream come true. I lost my first stallion, Matisse, from colic this year and Julian has helped heal me in so many ways. He is a thick Baroque guy with a huge neck and a huge heart. He is only 4 and still growing and learning. Julian is in training with Excel Performance Horses and competed in his first class this past weekend. He won the halter class and will be competing under saddle next show season in saddleseat. 2024 will be his first breeding season and I can’t wait to see the babies he will produce. I have completely fallen in love with this stunning guy. Follow him for lots of beautiful photos and updates on his adventures! 💗

Matisse made the most exquisite babies!! Bentley is a buckskin half quarter horse and just look at how gorgeous he is!! That color! That head! That movement! His temperament is to die for too. He’s a yearling and looking for a home. Located in Utah. 💗💗💗

The sweet Gillian M Steenblik sent me this photo of Beck and Matisse. It is overexposed because the settings on her camera weren't corrected. But it is so beautiful and perfect. It looks like he's an angel and Kelcie Beck is riding him in heaven. 💙 How my heart aches because I miss him so badly. If only I could have one more ride. 💔

It's so hard to post this. My beautiful and sweet Matisse gained his wings today. The colitis was very severe and although we did everything possible to save him, it wasn't enough. Matisse was a stallion that dreams are made of. He certainly made mine come true. We accomplished so much together. I absolutely loved riding and showing him, doing photoshoots, and just hanging out together. I will miss his feisty attitude so much and the way he would stand up so tall when he wanted treats. Matisse has over 35 babies out there with more on the way. He will live through them and in my heart forever.

His diarrhea is still really bad, but he is taking treats today!! Yay for having some appetite! They are giving him Bio-Sponge to help with the diarrhea. It is a clay that binds toxins in the gut. Hopefully it starts helping soon!

So, you know when things are going so well that you can’t believe how lucky you are? Well, that’s when you have setbacks (or at least I do). Matisse has developed some diarrhea and has a low grade fever. So they put him back on fluids. This may be due to upsetting the flora of the gut during surgery. Hopefully he pulls out of it quickly. Prayers would be definitely appreciated. 💗

Daily update: Matisse is off fluids and his bloodwork looks great. His next door neighbor is this sweet girl who was rescued from a neglectful situation. She seems so happy to be warm and have a full belly. Unfortunately, she isn’t able to stand. I’m grateful to still have my sweet boy with me. 💗

Daily update. 💗 Matisse is still doing well. His doctor says everything looks good and he is recovering the way he should. I came and brushed his mane and gave him some treats. I can tell his gut is sore but it is to be expected after having everything taken out and put back in.

Matisse babies are just amazing! Zhara is a half Arabian (without the blanket) who is at the training barn for school. She moves so pretty! Love her!! 💗

My heart is so happy!! Matisse is doing fantastic! He was his feisty self and starving. He thinks that they need to feed him more. 😂 His heart rate has been normal all day as well as his temperature. Passing lots of manure. He wanted out of the stall! I’m so thankful he is bright and happy! 💗 I’m also so grateful for his amazing surgeon Dr. Hammer at South Valley Equine.

Update: Matisse unfortunately needed surgery. Everything went great. He had a twist in his colon but no impaction and no damage. Now he just needs to recover and heal. Thanks for all your support and prayers!

Please send prayers for Matisse. He is showing colic symptoms and may need to go to surgery. Unfortunately, this is all too common with horses. We caught it early so he should be fine but it is scary. 😭
