Look at these cuties!! They are about 3 months old. We aren’t certain of their mix, but probably some Heeler in there! Email us at [email protected] with questions and interest!
WHAT IS A FOSTER ORGANIZATION? A foster organization is quite different from a shelter. WHY ARE WE A FOSTER ORGANIZATION AND NOT A SHELTER?
(61)
The animals do not all stay in one place/facility, but rather are scattered among the homes of our volunteers. HCPAP has created a small network of foster homes that allows the pets to be able to live in a comfortable environment until they get adopted. So, HCPAP dogs and cats get to enjoy the life of beds, couches and backyards while they are waiting for their forever family. Fostering gives us t
he unique ability to match each animal with an appropriate owner. We are able to discover the personality of each individual animal and the type of environment they will flourish in. It allows us to determine how the animals will behave around dogs, cats, children, etc. It also allows us to discover any not so great behaviors. When animals are fostered they are socialized and learn the "DOs and DON'Ts" of living in a home. Overall, pets that are fostered are better prepared for adoption. WHERE DO OUR ANIMALS COME FROM? The animals in our rescue come from various places. Many are released to us by their owners. We also like to help out other rescues and shelters when possible. DO WE EUTHANIZE PETS IF THEY DON'T GET ADOPTED? The only times that we will consider euthanasia is in situations of severe health condition or severe aggression. We keep the pets in our rescue until they find their forever home. Many of the pets in our rescue will be with us for several months or even years before they get adopted. WHAT VETERINARY CARE DO HCPAP PETS RECEIVE? The pets that come into our rescue will receive all needed veterinary care. Visit our website for details. WHERE TO FIND US:
Because we are not a shelter there is no facility for you to come to. You can see our adoptable pets every other Saturday at PetSmart on Legge Blvd in Wi******er, Virginia between the hours of 12:00 p.m. & 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on our page for possible cancellations. THE PEOPLE BEHIND HCPAP
All HCPAP's volunteers have full time jobs and/or are full time students. Animal rescue by itself is like a full time job. We all have devoted the little spare time we have to finding homes for so many great animals. DO WE ONLY ADOPT OUT TO CERTAIN AREAS/STATES? No, we do not limit adoptions to certain areas or the surrounding states. If you live far away and are willing to drive the distance to adopt one of our dogs or cats, we will happily adopt out to you (assuming everything else, like your application, checks out). ADOPTION PROCESS
Please visit our website for our adoption process, adoption fees and applications. www.hcpap.com

Stella and Breezy are two amazing girls still looking for a home. Both enjoy the company of other dogs and people! We have recently learned that Breezy LOVES water!! Please email us at [email protected] and SHARE our post. 💜💜
Look how cute this girl is?! Breezy was originally found as a stray. She was very underweight and in need of some TLC. She is learning what life is like as a family dog! Breezy is busy and requires lots of exercise. Other dogs to play with would be ideal as well! Email us at [email protected] if interested.
Let’s get Pinkie adopted 💜💜
Sweet Stella did so well at the 5k today! Don’t you love her ears???? 💜
Pinkie received a medal today at the 5k.
Did she run it? Absolutely not.
Did she show up on a cloudy Saturday? Yes.
To us, that deserves a medal. Are you looking for a girl who doesn’t run on Saturdays? Pinkie is your lady!!! She’s down to just be carried around like the baby she deserves to be 💜
Marvella is a quiet and confident puppy! She did a great job today running the 5k and very quickly picked up on her leash skills. Our favorite quality of Marvella’s is her eagerness to sit and watch. When you stop walking, so does she.
She is looking for a home and would be wonderful family dog 💜💜
Spud - HCPAP alumni did a great job today for the 5k!
Venus had a great day out at the Veterinary Community Outreach 5k!
She did amazing (eventually) on a leash and really wish she had a family of her own to run 5ks ! Venus was very helpful at the end of the race cleaning up everybody’s salty faces and chewing on course obstacles (sticks) 😂 When asked what her favorite pre race snack was, she said her sisters carsick vomit 🤢 Venus loves every kid she meets and would make a great puppy to raise your kids 💜💜
Come on by and meet these adorable pups!
We’re at Chet Hobert Park in Berryville, VA
It’s race day! Come on by and meet some adoptable pups on and off the race course 💜

Meet Buddha - he came with our recent large breed litter. Buddha is the sweetest and most gentle puppy. For being less than 6 months old he’s incredibly well behaved. We believe this really speaks to the amazing family dog he will make in the future.
Buddha has been working through some minor medical issues of his own. His eye lids curl in and rub on his eyeball causing discomfort. This week we brought him to an eye specialist in Washington DC so that he can receive the best care possible. He had a procedure done to tack his eye lids down while he grows into them. We are so thankful to the entire team of veterinarians and staff who have been so supportive and loving towards him!
As you can imagine, there is cost associated with the most up to date veterinary care and we’re okay with that! Buddha deserves his team.
We are asking for donations to cover his current and future procedure. If you feel you are able to donate, please do via PayPal. Your donation helps dogs like Buddha and allows us to continue to intake medical cases.

On the eighth day of Christmas, we gift you Auggie!! Auggie is a young to middle aged pity mix - he’s giving pocket pity. He is an absolute sweet heart with his people (see video). Auggie came to us from an absolutely horrendous situation. He is totally blind likely due to horrible breeding and neglect. Auggie needs a very special home. Because of his blindness and neglect, he can be easily excited by the sound of other pets. He would do best in a home with no other pets. This boy absolutely adores his people!!! He deserves the warmest l, snuggliest, treat filled home. We know how incredibly hard it will be to place him but we know we can find a home for him.
We have so many great dogs available for adoption. Everyone in the video below is looking for a home💜💜
Good morning facebook friends. Meet Wheels! We were asked by a local shelter to take over his care. He was originally found as a stray and is most likely suffering from IVDD. He has the sweetest personality….. not a mean bone in his body! As you can see he navigates pretty well in the grass, but he could really use a set of wheels for when on hard surfaces! Please consider donating towards his continued care and hopefully a wheelchair!**photos of his cute face in the comments**
