Some photos taken in last week or two. Unfortunately not many as the days have been so full, busy and long that I have forgotten to take photos.
There have been lots of dog let outs and walks as well as a couple of cats 🐈 that needed looking after whilst their owners were away on holiday.
There has been a lot of training and freelance grooming on yards. One of the photos is Mango learning to walk away from you whilst getting used to wearing her bridle (she has progressed a lot further since this photo and is walking away in full tack and started the basics of long reining).
There has also been a lot of leatherwork and repairs to do that I am slowly making my way through but I am getting there. Here is a side saddle stirrup leather that has been shortened.
This next week isn’t quite as mad so hopefully I’ll be able to catch up with myself a bit 😂

It’s been a very busy couple of days with ponies, cats and dogs. Some as holiday cover, some as normal weekly routine 🥰

Charlie (AS Coronation of the King) left for his new home 🏡 this afternoon. Admittedly I was quite nervous about loading him as he hasn’t done it before but he was such a good boy 😎. I am over the moon with him! I am also grateful to Seth from Douglas Horse Transport for his patience and calm attitude during the first step of this boys journey and allowing it to be a positive experience. Highly recommend! Hopefully the journey south went smoothly.
I will miss his cute and cheeky face on the yard but look forward to following his adventures. I wish him and his new owners the best of luck 🍀 together. I know he will be very much loved 🥰

This past week has been another full one filled with dog walking 🐶, p2p 🐎, exercising, morning yards, bitting youngsters, holiday care horses, leatherwork and foal watch.
I am exhausted and looking forward to an easier weekend as well as bit of rest after being kicked in the thigh by one of mine 😓 Totally my fault and a harsh reminder that anything can happen and we need to exercise caution even with those we trust. It’s very easy to become complacent with those we know well.
Hope you all have a lovely Easter 🐣 weekend

Selling on behalf of a client:

Two gorgeous registered Welsh A girls looking for their loving next home.
It is preferred they stay together but can be separated for the right home.

Maddie is a coming 10yr (2014) grey mare, approx 11.1hh. She is very sweet natured, lunges well, she has good conformation and a huge personality. She is partially broken and happy to be led with the grandchildren on her back. We havent been able to progress with her education due to lack of a jockey. She has won out showing in hand at local shows including being show champion.

Bridget is a coming 9yr (2015) Bay mare, approx 11.2hh. She is a sweet, quiet pony. She is a little nervous with new experiences but very giving once overcome her initial fears. Again partially broken, lunges well with good conformation. She is happy to be lead with the grandchildren and again needs a regular rider to bring her on.

Both ponies are up to date with dentist and farrier. They come with some tack and rugs.

Good home very important.

Another full on week 😴….

The week began with my usual Monday morning yard 😊 I also had care horses to do Tue-Fri. Willow went to the beach 🏖️ and had her first lunging lesson. She was very good and acted like she had done it all before which was super. Rose then went hacking with Mira with myself on Mira and Katherine on Rose 🌹. Rose was her usual slow self on walk (she can walk a good speed when she feels like it 😂) but she did do some lovely pieces of trot and behaved perfectly the whole ride.
Angus 🐶 went for a couple of walks and the weather was good for us. We like to go for a walk then play in the garden for a bit with one of his toys.
Nick started his training again after a couple of days off after his first P2P of the season. He is feeling very well in himself and enjoying being back to work. Bridget and Maddie were good to lunge though Maddie was quite lazy this week and took a bit of persuasion to get going. A bit too much partying in the night I think 😂. Kayleigh was a superstar and worked really hard in her lesson and did every asked of her. Pearl was her usual sassy wee self 😜 but she did settle and do some nice work too 😊.
The alpacas and ducks 🦆 were in this week too as a care job, always nice to see them.
Today was then a day of building fences in the pouring rain 🌧️ to keep naughty Loki in the field seeing as he happily wades down the river (shoulder deep) to get onto the yard to trash the place…no more Mr Loki!
Looking forward to a bit of a rest tomorrow before it all starts again 😎

Dog walking, exercising the pointer, exercising the ponies and Katherine Anne McIsaac enjoying her second hack out on Rose 🌹 😎. These are just some of the things I have been up to this past week!
Not in photos: Willow went for a walk on the beach, normal weekly yards have been done, care horses have been done and lots of other little jobs in between.

Super proud of these two…first ride together 🥰😎. Both have been on a fair journey these past few years with an operation and recovery each and both have come back stronger and happier. Lovely ride with good weather ☀️. Now for Katherine Anne McIsaac and Johnny to fight over who gets to ride again next 😂

It was then dog walking time 😎 took this handsome boy for his first walk followed by some play in the house 🐶

Busy couple of days despite the weather getting in the way….

Yesterday Nick and I got soaked through as the heavens opened 3minutes into our ride and as we were riding back home the sun came out (typical!) and today the clouds came low and blocked out all our pretty views.

How cute is Miss Pearl? My smallest training horse at the moment. She may be small but she has a massive personality and a lot of sass 😜 she definitely makes me work as hard if not harder 😂 than I work her. Kayleigh also worked hard in her lesson but I forgot to get a photo of her 🙄.

The second stable block has finally been fully painted with wood preservative. Got it done last night just before lost all the light. It’s been a slow job for several reasons but got there in the end! 😄

I had one of my weekly morning yards this morning. The boys were all good as gold as usual :)

Snow day today ❄️
Ground too hard and rutty this time for outside play but AB Coronation Of The King (Charlie) and Maplespring Blue Willow (Gummi) enjoyed watching the snow falling 😊.
No clients today as the ground was too frozen and the roads were too lethal to safely work any of the horses. More time for mine though 🥰

Little explanation of the name change….

Buck Equine has always offered care/holiday cover as one of its services and quite often clients have other pets at home that I look after too eg chickens, cats, alpacas, pigs, rabbits, etc.

After having a think about the direction of my business as well as the equine services I offer I have decided to run pet care as an official service as well which can be run either along side your equine needs or completely separately.

Some of the new services I will be offering in the Dumfries and surrounding areas include:
⭐️Dog walking
⭐️Dog let outs/ companionship
⭐️ Home visits for cats and other pets (care and/or companionship, etc)
⭐️ Visits for other outdoor animals eg sheep, alpacas, etc

❌Due to my own commitments I cannot do full day stays or overnight stays ❌

I am experienced with a large variety of animals including reptiles, birds, farm, domestic, etc. You name it and I have probably looked after it
I am also happy to give any medications etc that your pet requires.

If you are looking for any help with your other pets please keep me in mind and please let your friends know too 😎

If you have any questions please pop me a message and I’ll be happy to answer any queries you have

Delivery! 66 bales hand balled to safety. The weather is changing rapidly and winter is definitely on the horizon. The wind and rain is here but at least the temperatures have been mild. Not long though until the ponies need to start coming in properly and the pre winter preparations are already well under way

Bit of a miserable day so it was time to get out the pressure washer and clean some of the rugs, some ready for the winter and some to sell. I seem to have acquired so many sizes I don’t use so some haven’t seen the light of day for a long time so went a bit manky (photos of a couple) and one had even become a bed to a little family that accidentally got turfed out (photo taken after I scooped them up and before I returned them to their nest as mummy mouse was still in the wooden box with them..so much for me thinking it was mouse proof 😂)
