My name is Pixie, as in Pixie Dust. Some of you may know me from my FB page, Pixie's Page. I am a Maltese in training to be a therapy dog, and I have news to share! Me and my Mom are going to be going to the American Maltese Association's (AMA) Specialty in Asheville, NC this spring!! I am so happy. 😊 I even have my airline travel arranged! While thinking about this fun trip, my adopted siblings, Pirate and Charm are pretty old and they have lots of memories. They shared with me the story of Sam-their adopted brother who lived with them and my mom after being rescued. You see, he was rescued by the American Maltese Association Rescue! My mom and her husband adopted Sam. He had been badly mistreated and ended up abandoned in a shelter. The head of the shelter in Shelbyville, IL-Saving Orphaned Animals-called my aunt Sandy Bingham-Porter, who was at that time the president of the AMA. Aunt Sandy went and picked him up, determined to find him a loving, forever home. Long story short, being nearly ten years old severely limited aunt Sandy's chance of finding Sam a home. PI and Charm told me that our mom and her husband gave him a place to stay, and while it took awhile to trust again, Sam had a wonderful, forever home for the next six years of his life. He was happy! Sadly, Sam passed away at nearly 16 years of age after a brief illness. He may have had a rough start, but did he have a happy ending!! See how happy he is in the video?? To commemorate Sam's life, my mom and me are going to give $1 for every "like" and "share" of this page, (up to $500!) to the American Maltese Association Rescue AND up to $500 to the Saving Orohaned Animals Shelter, that literally saved Sam's life. In Sam's memory, let's get lots of "likes" and share his video so other dogs may get the same chance to happily hop along and be loved in a forever home!!
Pixie’s Hotel Stay at the Drury Inn & Suites
Part of my training is getting to go out into the world and discover new things. I recently got to stay in a Drury hotel with my adopted siblings, Pi and Charm (Pi is short for Pirate- who does not act like a Pirate- for the record). We had a lot of fun. Drury Hotels are pet friendly, so my Mom likes them a lot. Pi and Charm didn’t say too much during our stay, but I had a lot to say since this was all new to me.
