When we had to close our refuge in Mexico, Madres Mutts took the majority of our dogs and found them homes. I am now living in Seattle and working with Madres Mutts directly. They are a newer organization but they are wonderful and have a mission much like my own! Please like and follow Madres Mutts and if you know anyone in the PNW looking for their FurEver friend, please tell them about Madres Mutts Dog Rescue!

If you're into older men, then Raul is the one for you! He is neutered and of mixed breed. His age is calculated at 12 + years. He weighs 15 kg and is 14 inches tall. Raúl was living in a motel parking lot and could not walk and he was skin and bones with barely any fur. We rescued him thinking it would be a hospice situation for a couple of months but once he had some nutrition, he started walking again. Medicated baths cleared up his skin and his fur grew back. As you can see, he regained his appetite and is now healthy. He is good with other dogs, cats unknown. Loves food, people, and cuddling up to sleep. He made his debut at the Malecon on Saturday and was an absolute delight, welcoming pats and scratches from all who came by.

Do you need a little pepper in your life? How about Cayenne? She has such a sweet personality and was able to show that off on Saturday at the Malecon. She's redish-brown and a Mexican Street Dog aged 2 years old. She weighs 14 kg. Cayenne was rescued from the Guadalajara pound slated for euthanization due to space. She gets along great with other dogs. Good energy level. She loves people and is good with kids. She hasn't been cat tested, so that's an unknown.

If you didn't get to the Malecon on Saturday, then you missed meeting Jon. He is a male Mexican Street dog, Age: 7 months, 14 kg. He's a parvo survivor! Fully recovered. Jon came in with his mom. Arrived at the shelter at three weeks of age and still nursing. Brother of Brianne, Ayra and Bran. He has never known a loving family environment in a home. He's good with other dogs. He's a puppy, so high energy, but his sweet temperament shines through. He's getting better and better on a leash and was so obedient on Saturday with all the people aound.

Here is Carol. She is a beautiful dog and very calm. She was at the Malecon on Saturday and is available for adoption. She is a female brown and black German Shepherd Mix (probably with Malinois), aged 3 years, weight: 22kg. Carol was living on the streets when rescued. Still slightly underweight, she is a recent rescue. High energy, loves to play and very intelligent. Gets along great with other dogs. Cats and kids unknown, but she was pretty sweet around the kids at the Malecon. LOVES PEOPLE. Still very puppyish in personality.

On Saturday we didn't have the success we were hoping for. Net weekend and the weekend after, the adoption day will be at the Jocotepec Malecon. One of Kitty's puppies got adopted, but that leaves 7 still needing a foster or adopter. Plus all the other great dogs!

There are still over 30 dogs needing a home due to the closure of our rescue. We're having an adoption day on Saturday, October 14, at the Plaza from 12:30 to 4:00. Come out and see the dogs of varying sizes, breeds and genders as well as four of Kitty's puppies. Meeting them in person will be something special.
