Aloha Paws Pet Care
Caring for animals of all kinds has been a passion of mine ever since I was little. It has always been a goal to turn my passion into a career. I grew up in a household full of pets, we had dogs, cats, birds, turtles, and more. They were always a huge part of me and my families life. We took our dogs on hikes, walks, or adventures everyday. We raised puppies and kittens, we adopted, we sheltered, we rescued and we cared for them all as best as we could and with so much love. They were and always will be family.
When I was 18 I went to college for a semester and found myself in an area that was in need of professional dog walkers. This was when I first realized it was something I would not give up doing. I worked for a dog walking company called Just Paws. I walked several dogs a day in different locations in a big city and I loved everything about it (except for the big city part).
At the time I realized college was not right for me and it was important for me to take some time off school and make a change in my life. I bought a one way ticket to Hawaii and found myself in a small town on Big Island. A neighbor of mine was a foster mom for dogs and I quickly jumped in to help. I took care of several dogs that had been neglected and was able to transform their lives as they did mine. I rescued strays from the side of the roads, I brought them to the vet, helped get them adopted and find their forever homes. I took care of feral kittens that were without their mothers and helped get them healthy so they could live a long, happy life as they deserved. I spent a few months on Big Island making this my mission. Until it was time for the next chapter.
I moved back to Massachusetts chasing my goals after I was hired by a large animal care business. Working for Your Pets and Us was the most amazing experience I could have asked for. My boss was an inspiration. She had a beautiful property dedicated so the pups that we cared for could run free. We trained every dog we brought on board to the daycare. It was a safe and happy environment for all the dogs that came. We offered dog walking, in-home pet sitting, training, cat care, we cared for horses and farm animals, and more. Shortly after I got the job I started managing the company. I did pick ups, drop offs, training and worked as many hours as I could. I loved my job more than I ever thought was possible. It inspired me to do more.
Sad to leave all my precious pets behind but excited to chase my dreams, I did some research and found a single pet sitting job on Maui for two weeks. So I bought my one-way ticket. I got my first pet sitting job, then the next, and the next. Then people started referring me to others who needed the service, and word of mouth took its course and I built a clientele basis that I am so thankful for. I extended my services to offer everything that I was capable of due to my experience and to meet pet owners requests. I take pride in my work ethic, and in my experience, but most importantly my passion to care for animals. It has been an incredible journey to get where I am today with Aloha Paws Pet Care. I have learned so much and am so proud to call this little pet care business my own.
