When voting in the , please don't ever leave your dog tied up outside, as sadly there's a real risk of pet theft. Best play it safe, leave your dog at home, or bring someone along to wait outside with your pooch, on a lead, while you vote.

BUDDY UPDATE URGENT!!
EDIT!! The tooth will be sorted
As you know Buddy is currently in kennels being assessed. They have identified that Buddy is in pain from an old broken tooth. The tooth was xrayed and no issues found, but it is obviously hurting him. The kennels cannot continue to work with him while in pain, so he needs to be moved as soon as possible.
Buddy needs an experienced foster home who can carry on working with his issues that he has besides his tooth. He needs a quiet house with 2 people at most, no children or other animals. They need to understand what Buddy requires to settle so he doesn't keep getting moved about. This in itself has damaged Buddy already. He really does have great potential if in the right place.

Hi everyone. I have taken Buddy into kennels today for his assessment and training. He was such a good boy going in. I had a really good look around and it's beautiful there. All kennels are heated and also have air conditioning. Fields for training and really lovely Kennel hands. The owner is firm but fair and said 'boot camp' will start tomorrow. She assured me Buddy will be cared for and looked after. I have absolutely no doubt about that after being there. All the other kennels there had dogs in that were calm, quiet and tails wagging. That in itself says alot about the place. He has no visits from me for his entire stay, but I will be ringing for updates. Fingers crossed he comes out a much calmer boy. I keep telling myself I haven't fallen for him 😬

Update

Buddy is now in his forever armchair as a failed foster. Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated. A very sleepy Buddy. He has had all his bloods and stats carried out at the Vets. He had to be sedated - hence the deep sleep. All results were good, just needs to put on some weight.

He is off tomorrow Monday 24th June, to be assessed for 11 days, at the behaviourist's. A very big thank you to everyone that has so wonderfully donated to allow Buddy to be fully assessed. However, we are just a tad short of donations to be able to keep him comfortable after the assessments. So I will ask, if you haven't already donated please consider. It would mean the world to Buddy who has been so messed up mentally by us humans, it's the very least we can do is give him a brighter life without the constant fear he feels.

Hi my name is Sally and I'm currently fostering Buddy.
He has just had a quick vet visit to check nothing visible is causing him issues. He obviously had to be muzzled for this visit even tho the vet came out to the carpark. She said his walking seems fine, his castration site seems fine, from what she could see and he certainly isn't disorientated 🤣
He is now booked in for next Thursday for his bloods and full health check,to see if there is anything else they can't see.
He will need sedation for this as he is obviously aggressive at the vets, like alot of dogs, but as Buddy is so highly strung anyway it's to try to minimise the stress for him.
As stated this is going to be costly for a small charity without the added cost to Kennel him for his full behaviour assessment on 24th.
Thank you to everyone who is supporting me and the charity with this boy. He really is a lovely boy and there are times when that glimmer of hope comes out and he is so very sweet with me.

Hi Followers, this is going to be difficult plea. (Please skip to the bottom and please donate if you haven't got the time to read the following).

As many of you don't know me, I'm Julie West -Trustee, I keep my head down and focus on the Charity and the whippets always come first in my belief. I have been with Scruples and Just Whippets Rescue from the beginning, over 13 years now. Going back to the onset of Scruples the whole ethos was to Rescue, Rehabilitate and Re home whippets or whippet like dogs. We have now successfully over the years saved nearly a 1,000 dogs - did you know that? Yes, nearly a 1,000 dogs that's all down to you, our followers and everyone who has donated.

Did you also know we are the only Charity Commission Registered Whippet Rescue Charity that is NOT a registered Company nor do we have paid employees. So every single penny goes to the Charity to help the Whippets in our care. Basically, as some of you know it's me here and my fellow Trustees running the Charity 24/7.

Now the Appeal for Buddy, a quick background on him, he was one of those dogs you see on Facebook "Free to a good home". A supporter of the Charity managed to persuade his owner not to give him away to anyone who answered his plea. She kindly took him in for his own safety and gave him respite care and contacted several Charities who did not answer her. She approached us and of course we would offer Buddy help.

Unknowingly, the Charity wasn't told of his specialist behavioural care he requires and Buddy requires an urgent behaviourial assessment. We have found the help from the brilliant and very knowledgable Kerry, he requires with the grateful help from his foster Mum, but this does not come cheaply. The Charity has already castrated Buddy and brought his vaccinations up to date.

So why should we let him down now - money, is the issue! To put it plainly the Charity has not got the financial support to fund Buddy's help. Can you help please? We have 38K supporters on this page even if it is a £1 we can get him to the specialists he so urgently needs.

The specialist have a vacancy for the 24th June and the Charity's goal is to get him there for that but that relies on a big ask from you our supporters. If we can't raise the money for his specialist assessments, well the Charity has failed and let poor Buddy down. This is not what we want nor for the Charity to be put in such a financial difficulty but the Charity wants to succeed and help poor Buddy - wouldn't you?

Buddy the dog needs your help!

Buddy is currently in foster care to be assessed for permanent adoption. Unfortunately Buddy has struggled a great deal to control his emotions in his new environment and has been aggressive towards his foster carers.

We will struggle to find Buddy the right home if he is showing signs of aggression. Despite this we believe that it's important to try and identify the root cause of this aggression rather than simply give up on him. He has already been let down by too many people.

We want to give Buddy the best possible chance at life and we need to raise some money so that we can get Buddy fully assessed by a Vet to see if he is suffering from any medical conditions which might be upsetting him. This will incur costs which will be difficult for a small charity to meet without help from the dog loving community. We would also then like Buddy to stay with a reputable training establishment where he can be fully assessed to see which home would be the most suitable to meet Buddy's needs.

Although Buddy has presented his foster carers with some challenging behaviours he has also been described as the sweetest dog underneath the teeth and spit. Buddy has clearly been damaged by humans and we owe it to him to try and help him.

Without the support of the generous dog loving community we will not be able to help Buddy in the way that he needs and we don't want anyone to have to face making the decision to put Buddy to sleep purely because of finances, he deserves more than that.

Mummy put grass seed down, so that means my quilt couldn't be put on it. Mummy had put my quilt on a sunlounger out of the way, so I took advantage and made myself comfortable.
