We are on a mission to Change The Way People Approach Dogs, and we would love your support in this journey. As we all know, every dog is different—while on a leash some are more comfortable being approached by strangers than others. For people walking by there is often uncertainty when approaching a dog they’re not familiar with. While owners know if their pup is good with people, gets along with other dogs, is still learning or just prefers to be left alone. To others, it can be unclear, potentially leading to stressful situations for the dog, those approaching and the owner.
To address this, we have spent the last 21 months developing a solution we feel will be beneficial to everyone. We’ve created a 4-in-1 double-sided leash tag that snaps right onto almost any leash to provide clear information from a distance about a dog and how their owner prefers them to be approached. It’s simple, effective, and easy to understand. It’s not only beneficial to people walking toward a dog but also gives owners a way to advocate for their dogs both verbally and non-verbally. We’re Kyle and David, a father-son duo, the founders of SpokesPup and dog lovers at our core. Our mission is to change the way people approach dogs.
We started this journey to help our family dog, Brody, but quickly realized that every dog is different. We knew we needed to create a way for you to easily communicate your dog’s needs and what better way to do it than right on their leash.

is a series dedicated to sharing the impact of SpokesPup through the experiences of dogs and their owners. This Story is dedicated to Brody, the dog who helped inspire SpokesPup as we know it today.
As a puppy, Brody, the family dog of SpokesPup co-founders David and Kyle, was attacked by another dog while at a food truck event. While Brody was able to avoid any serious injuries, it caused him to be leash reactive towards other dogs. SpokesPup was created so incidents like this can be avoided.
