Its National Rhino Day and BoysieTee have this great T-shirt on Etsy. 🦏🦏🦏
I knew that in Africa, the southern white rhinos, once thought to be extinct, now thrive in protected sanctuaries; but they are classified as near threatened.
Sadly the western black rhino and northern white rhinos have recently become extinct in the wild.
It's so sad that the life of these magnificent creatures is being taken due to hunting, cruelty and ignorance.

**wildfire has burnt down dog shelter**

Stray Haven shelter in Cyprus, was burnt down yesterday after a wildfire, despite the best efforts of then fire department and volunteers.
The dogs had to be released to save their lives, sadly some didn't survive, but many have been rescued and are in foster homes.
Lots of dogs need rehoming in loving forever homes.
If you or anyone you know of anyone is looking to adopt a dog, please consider a dog from From Cyprus.

Stray Haven along with many other dog rescue shelters do an amazing job of saving, loving and finding homes for the many stray dogs of Cyprus.
They have a rehoming program and arrange flights for the dogs to travel to their new homes often.

The shelters in Cyprus, receive little to no funding and have to raise the much needed money themselves, this makes this fire so much more heartbreaking for Stay Haven, because the shelter will have to find the money to rebuild by themselves.
If you can help, either with a donation, rehoming or sharing this post it would be much appreciate.

Without wanting to be too political, it seems that there is quite a 'to do' the the Government has.... Here is just one more piece of legislation that they need to follow through on!!

Today, we are making a direct appeal to the Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to demand that his Government delivers on the promised Kept Animals Bill – vital legislation that will help address several significant animal welfare issues ➡️ https://bit.ly/3XVa9jt

The Bill, and legislation under it, would introduce vital measures, including putting an end to dogs being imported into the country with mutilations such as cropped ears and cracking down on the illegal smuggling of dogs and puppies 💔

While the Government delays, countless dogs, including imported dogs with cropped ears and illegally smuggled puppies and heavily pregnant mums, continue to suffer at the hands of unscrupulous traders. We’ve waited long enough.
