Mae West Mid-West & Adventures w/ Giddy Up:
We had a special guest with us this week. Mom's friend Mooshie Moo 😊 Mooshie is a BIG Great Dane, mom says she 💩 bigger than us! Mooshie is a big gentle giant. Mom took her for walks multiple times a day she would usually take one of us with her, but after the first time I (Mae West) went with....mom said "no more" I guess my little legs were just too short to keep up with Mooshie & Mom had to carry me most of the way 😳. Mom didn't take pictures of all of the walks because she had her hands full of leashes & poo bags. But Giddy Up really liked Mooshie too❤️

Another very sad day being a dog walker💔. Today I said goodbye to my friend Finn😭 he was such a sweet and gentle golden. Dogs literally have ran right up to us while walking and one dog even snipped at him one day and he had absolutely no reaction at all. Just the sweetest most gentle soul you could ever meet. RIP sweet Finn, I will miss you!

One thing great about having long time clients is I know my schedule & I love them like family. With that being said, in the last few years with Covid, people retiring & the unfortunate....pets pass away. I have found myself with 2 or possibly 3 openings Monday thru Friday OR Monday thru Thursday, DEPENDING on location. I have to be able to fit the stops into my route without running back & forth across town (otherwise I spend more time driving to locations).

I am heartbroken. Not the way I wanted to start the new year. I woke up this morning with a text from a customer saying that my little buddy Bailey had a few episodes this weekend and would be passing the Rainbow Bridge this week. But to please visit today, take him out, give him some love and put him in a carriage and take him for a walk to get some fresh air. Before I could get there today little Bailey crossed the bridge 😢😭
That's 3 of my "co-workers" in 3 weeks. 💔

Another sad day as a pet sitter🥺. Today it was my daily walker Lexi who I helped cross over the rainbow bridge with her owner.
I have been walking Lexi 5 times a week since May of 2016. She was a beautiful rescue dog that use to try to drag me down the road. After we figured out she walked best on a gentle leader, our walks were much more enjoyable.
She had a great home & owner who was able to control her skin issues with diet along with the bi-weekly medicated baths I gave her.
Dr Kate from Lap of Love came again today. They truly do a very peaceful passing. Rest in peace sweet girl! I will miss you😔

Pet sitting is full of so many blessings, but it unfortunately comes with heartbreak sometimes. Today I said goodbye to one of my best buddy's, Mr. Laddie ☘️
Laddie was an occasional walking dog, but more importantly he was one of my boarding buddies. He was the biggest Golden retriever you would ever meet, but so gentle & sweet. This one broke my heart so much because Laddie & my George were such buddies❤️❤️.Laddie's mama would tell him he was going to see George & he would be so happy to come over.
I was blessed to be there with his mama to help him cross over the rainbow bridge 🌈. She had Dr. Kate from Lap of Love come to the house. They were so respectful & compassionate for the entire process. From the initial phone call, the procedure & he left in style wrapped in a soft blanket, a pillow for his head & Dr Kate's car with flowers & more blankets. If you ever need to go through this painful experience, I highly recommend this company.
Unfortunately tomorrow I have to do one of these again 😢😭

We went to our vets office today, not for a check up, just to see Santa & get treats!
No other adventures lately😔 Mom said it's too cold outside.

These two special pups made me cry today, my buddies Chace, aka Big Red & Piper, aka Piperoni.
I have been walking them 5 days a week for the last 7 years. Daddy retired today, so unfortunately my daily visits have ended. I will see them every once in awhile when he goes out of town, but it will not be the same😔.
With that being said... DEPENDING ON LOCATION!!! I will have in opening for Monday through Friday dog walking.

Always sad when you know you won't see them as much anymore. Tucker's mama is fortunate enough to be able to retire next week. Just over six years ago I met this little guy and have been walking him three times a week since then. Luckily, I walk his next door neighbor now, so I will still be able to see him, just not spend as much time with him.😢

Every morning since May of 2016, I start my day walking this handsome boy & his sister. Lots of days he is outside waiting for me. He lays on the driveway & as I come down the road, he spies my car & his head pops up, as I turn around in the cul-de-sac he dances back & forth on the driveway until I get to him.😊❤️
The hardest part of my job when I have these customers, is watching them get older. Unfortunately, with that comes the day I need to say good bye🥺. Today was that day with Mr. Zak😭 rest in peace my dear friend, I will miss your smiling face.

BEST SIGN EVER!!! My biggest pet peeve when walking dogs is seeing all of the piles of💩 that other people do not pick up. Just came across this brand new sign while walking today. Apparently people can't seem to figure out when they offer you free bags that they should pick it up, so they had to add another sign. 😆
