Ellora & The Fosters I can't save the world but I can save a dog & change it's world forever. Please consider becoming a foster carer for your local animal rescue/pound. Hi!

My name is Ellora, I have fostered dogs for around 7 years in total. I am currently on hold until my house is built but I am still active in the rescue world and assist Forever Friends Animal Rescue as a Foster Dog Intake Coordinator. Fostering helps rescues and shelter groups reduce the numbers held in pounds which would otherwise would be put down. People associate rescue dogs with problems but

often it is the last owner who did not understand the dog or how to provide basic training or socialisation. We all foster with the intention of finding a permanent forever home but even temporary or respite care makes a huge difference. Carers help provide basic training and socialising skills when we welcome the dog into our homes. We learn their personalities and behaviours which is vital to help match a forever family. I have learnt a lot people treat animals as if they're possessions when they get bored with it, the rescue groups are trying to reduce the kill rate but may not have enough fosters to take on any more animals. Please consider being a foster parent, you get to choose how long you do it for, whether it be short term or long term, all you have to do is provide some spare space in your home to save a life. Please inbox me if you would like any help finding a local rescue group :).

Our Story

My name is Ellora and I am a dog foster carer. Fostering helps rescue and shelter groups reduce the numbers held in pounds which would otherwise would be put down. People associate rescue dogs with problems but often it is the last owner who did not understand the dog or how to provide basic training or socialising. We all foster with the intention of finding a permanent forever home. Fosters help provide basic training and socialising skills when we welcome the dog into our homes. We learn their personalities which is vital to help match the potential new family. This means that not all animals will be suited to the homes who apply but we can always keep your name for future dogs who come into care. I have learnt a lot people treat animals as if they're possessions when they get bored with them, the rescue groups are trying to reduce the kill rate in pounds across Australia for the animals who are usually abandoned but may not have enough fosters to take on any more animals. So, please consider being a foster parent, you can choose how long you do it for, whether it be short term or long term, it all helps, even the vet bills and usually the food as well is paid for. But if you cannot commit to caring there are other ways you can help as well, as moderate to large rescues also need volunteers who can transport food or animals to their foster carer now and again.

Please consider providing some spare space in your home to save a life. Feel free to inbox me if you would like any help finding a local rescue group :).
