Despite all the effort, ACHILLES died of heart failure at our home in Jeffrey's loving arms. We appreciate all the contributions, thoughts and prayers, and kind messages sent to us by complete strangers. We went on to adopt 2 Bengals, 1 Tabby/Bengal mix, and 1 Highland Lynx retired Queen from a breeder in Michigan. The reward of foster and helping another Bengal get ready for his forever home is a
mazing. Bengals are a wonderful breed. Feel free to PM me with questions regarding fostering of adopting.
**This precious Bengal, ACHILLES, was adopted earlier this year when he was abandoned at the vet after it was discovered that he has a congenital heart problem. He is currently in the Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services Center in Saint Louis and has developed disease/damage to his right lung, possibly due to bleeding from a medication used to treat his heart problem. He is in the best possible hands with his loving family, his rescue support team, and veterinary specialists. His veterinary expenses sky-rocketed when it was determine that he would require emergency surgery and post-op critical care. The Cardiologist, Surgeon and Criticalists report that Achilles prognosis, after surgery, is very good and everyone is trying to remain hopeful that he will overcome this current hurdle and stay with his family for years to come. *Update: Surgery went very well and Achilles is recovering in the C-ICU! At this time, his veterinary expenses have exceeded $5,600. With extensive financial commitments from his family and his rescue support team, along with “gofundme” donations not to exceed $3,600, we are hoping to pay Achilles expenses in full. Achilles is an affectionate, gentle, and very vocal 13-month-old Bengal, that loves life. Thank you for reading our story. Please help us with a donation, if possible. If you cannot send a gift of money, we would appreciate your passing our story along to others, and keeping Achilles in your thoughts and prayers.
