IN-STORE NOW! ⭐️STABLEBED SHAVINGS⭐️

Why StableBed?
✔ StableBed shavings are premium quality pure pine wood shavings, branded as best quality.
✔ StableBed is dust extracted to minimise the risk of respiratory problems in stabled horses.
✔ StableBed shavings are soft and light.
✔ StableBed shavings are highly absorbent because they are of a low moisture content meaning more wood fibre by volume. The cells of the wood fibre naturally attract moisture so the lower their water content the more effective the bedding will be at absorbing waste fluid.
✔ StableBed shavings are made from Scots Pine timber which is naturally antiseptic in nature due to naturally occurring compounds present in the timber (sylvestrin).
✔ StableBed shavings are naturally deodorising because they are made from pine that has the distinctive resinous fragrance often re-created by manufacturers of cleaning and de-odourising agents.
✔ StableBed is 100% natural and pure. The vast majority of softwood that makes these shavings is from Scandinavian countries and of the highest quality.

Handy tips for keeping our gees gees comfortable in this glorious British weather

🚨🌡️ Attention Horse Owners: Preparing for the Upcoming Heatwave! 🌡️🚨

Hey everyone,

With the heatwave underway, it’s crucial to ensure our horses stay safe and comfortable. Here are some essential tips to help your horses beat the heat:

1. Hydration is Key💧:
- Make sure your horses have constant access to fresh, clean water. Horses can drink up to 10 gallons a day, even more in hot weather!
- Consider adding electrolytes to their water to replenish what they lose through sweating.

2. Shade and Shelter 🌳:
- Provide plenty of shaded areas where your horses can escape the direct sun. Trees, shelters, or even shade cloth can be effective.
- If your horses are stabled, ensure there is proper ventilation. Fans can help circulate air and keep the barn cooler.

3. Cool Down🧴:
- Hose your horses down with cool water, especially after exercise. Focus on their neck, chest, and legs.

4. Feeding Adjustments 🥕:
- Feed your horses during the cooler parts of the day – early morning or late evening.
- Avoid excessive grain and concentrate feeds, as these can increase body heat.

5. Monitor Exercise 🏇:
- Exercise your horses during the coolest parts of the day, typically early morning or late evening.
- Be mindful of signs of heat stress: heavy sweating, rapid breathing, lethargy, or an elevated heart rate. If you notice any of these, stop immediately and begin cooling procedures.

6. Health Checks 🩺:
- Keep an eye on your horse’s health. Heat can exacerbate conditions like respiratory issues and colic.
- Regularly check for signs of dehydration by pinching the skin on their neck. If it doesn’t snap back quickly, your horse may be dehydrated.

7. Travel Smart 🚛:
- If you need to transport your horse, do so during the cooler parts of the day and ensure the trailer is well-ventilated.
- Take frequent breaks to offer water and check on your horse’s condition.

Let's keep our equine friends safe and comfortable during this heatwave. Stay cool and take care! 🐴❤️

PRICE DROP!
⭐️ SNOWFLAKE WOOD PELLETS ⭐️

Snowflake Premium equine wood pellets are made from UK sourced 100% virgin softwood. The wood is compressed to form a pellet using only lignin which is naturally found in the wood to bind them.

Wood pellets make a lovely, warm fluffy bed that is very absorbent, being able to soak up to three times their volume in water, locking in odours too. The pellets are fully biodegradable and rot down quickly on the muck heap into a rich compost.

The clean, green, economical and easy to use alternative to traditional wood based equestrian bedding.

***RAGWORT***

How many of us struggle to get rid of ragwort in our pasture?

Whilst it is incredibly annoying to see those bright yellow flowers spring up each year after year, it’s vital that we remove the plants as they are very toxic to our horses if eaten and may cause irreversible liver damage.

Horses tend not to eat Ragwort because it has a bitter taste, if it is cut, wilted and dried (whether left in the pasture or found in forage such as hay) it loses its bitter taste and becomes more palatable but is still just as toxic.

If you have ragwort growing in your horse’s pasture, the best way of removing it is to pull the plants up so that the roots are removed from the ground. When ‘pulling’ ragwort:
• Always wear gloves and cover your arms.
• Try to pull up the plants when they are immature and before they shed seeds – seeds ripen in July & August and are generally shed in September.
• Ensure that all the root is removed as remaining fragments will regrow.
• It will be easier to pull it up when the ground is soft or damp after rain.
• Ragwort is a biannual plant (flowers every two years) and its seeds lie dormant in the ground so the removal of plants will need to be done annually for at least two years.
• When removed, immediately bag the plant or put it into a container which prevents it from spreading seeds whilst transporting it for disposal.
• Dispose of it by composting or taking it to your local recycling/composting centre. If there is only a small amount, it may be burned if it is safe to do so and away from buildings, people and animals. Safe and effective disposal of the removed plants is key to preventing further spread.
• It is vital that all dead ragwort is removed from the pasture as it becomes more palatable and is, therefore, more likely to be eaten.

⭐️ BAILEYS MEADOW COBS ⭐️

Harvested from perennial meadows, growing in the foothills of the Bavarian Pre-Alps, in southern Germany, Natural Meadow Cobs contain an appetising blend of up to 60 different species of naturally-occurring meadow grasses, wildflowers and herbs, and are high in fibre, yet low in sugars, starch and calories as the plants have been left to mature before cutting. They are then coarsely chopped and high-temperature dried - in a facility powered by renewable biomass-fuelled electricity - and pressed into chunky cobs.

When can they be fed?
• Alongside any existing balanced diet
• As a “bulker” with a balancer
• As a replacement for, or in addition to, beet, chaff or unbalanced fibre mashes
• As a FULL or partial forage replacement or forage/fibre alternative

FEEDING RECOMMENDATIONS
Must be soaked before feeding
Add 2 parts water to 1 part Natural Meadow Cobs eg. 2 scoops of water to 1 scoop cobs. (More water can be added if you want to help rehydrate your horse)

While some horses cope well with colder weather, those who are naturally poorer doers are more at risk of unwanted weight loss in the winter. Ensuring they maintain a good fibre intake is essential, as is providing any additional calories lost from keeping warm.

Care & Gain is a high calorie feed suitable for horses and ponies prone to laminitis. Care & Gain is ideal for poor doers who need to gain weight or those requiring higher energy levels, whilst keeping starch and sugar levels low.

Care & Gain contains high quality protein sources to support muscle maintenance in older horses and ponies, alongside elevated vitamins C and E to support the body’s immune system, antioxidant capacity and muscle function. Calories are provided from easily digestible fibre and oil sources, allowing controlled weight gain whilst supporting metabolic function.

Balanced with vitamins and minerals – no need to supplement when fed at the recommended levels for bodyweight and workload.

⏰ TICK TOCK... ⏰

Thank you to those that have settled their accounts.
To the remaining lot, can I point out:

A 'thumbs up' is not a payment!
I'll do this afternoon when now we are in the evening.
I'll call you tomorrow, as we know, tomorrow never comes.

Online banking or paypal can be done at anytime and no the 'annoying notification' doesn't disturb me 🤣

I am now around for card payments, so please call!

Time is ticking for the Naughty List and a re-think for penalties for delayed or exceeding the agreed credit terms.

Please note I am a one-woman band doing the work of at least 10 people and my time is just as precious as yours. So once you have been told your total please pay unless you have spoken to me prior to placing your order and credit terms have been agreed! Actually if anyone can name all the roles I play in this business I will knock a fiver off your total! 😉
