We are currently trying to catch 6 cockatiels. The owner passed away in her apartment, and family members came from Oklahoma to clean her apartment and found the birds. Birds are dehydrated and in need of medical checkups. A few birds were deceased in their cages.

Working with big exotic birds is not for everyone.one of the cockatoos got nervous while I was feeding them and just went on attack mode. Very understandable and bird was not at fault.

This is one of the reasons why we do not post our address online, because people will just drop off animals with out us knowing at all times of the day, just like they do at animal shelters.or parks, just drop them off to fend for themselves. This.parakeet was left in a box in 100 degrees weather and on top of thT, because he was jumping around the box it caught the attention of feral cats and he almost became a meal for the feral cats, of course its not the cats fault as.they are only doing what nature has taught them. Please do not drop off animals anywhere without making an appointment our making someone aware you will be stopping by.

Parakeet has been treated and is in recovery.

We just picked up this umbrella cockatoo, owner surrender. She is no longer able to care for him. She was an elderly woman really sweet but knew she was not able to care for him. He was not happy at all being in a small transport cage.

I wanted to give an update on the cockatoo. She was doing better till it prolapse again. She needs a cloacoplasty. She has a deslorelin implant. We need to schedule the cloacoplasty surgery, but we need $2,400 for this procedure. We are trying to come up with items to raffle to come up with the money for the procedure. If you would like to donate, we have options you can call Gulf Coast, or you can Zelle, GoFundMe takes a portion, but we have that option ad well. We are also looking for anyone who would be willing to donate to the auction.

What is a Cloacoplasty:
The surgery, called asymmetric cloacoplasty, involves making an incision and applying a suture to reduce the cloacal opening.

What is a Deslorelin Implant:
Suprelorin is given as an implant that slowly releases a continuous low dose of deslorelin. This suppresses (blocks) the production of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH). Note: Deslorelin (Suprelorin, Virbac) is a prescription drug and is available only through veterinarians.
We will have to take the bird every 3 months to get a new one.

We just received a call from the avian vet at Gulf Coast. They would like to move forward with the procedure this morning but we are short $1,600. Last night the bill was paid by me and it was almost $1,000. Some may ask your self, well why take in an animal that needs immediate help and you have no funds. Well the cockatoo has been prolapse for a few days now, and when she was finally surrender to us we took her to the vet asap. No animals should suffer. Just left the hospital, I paid $927.62, and I had to call friends to let me borrow money to be able to pay this bill. She has to stay overnight, and tomorrow, she will see the board certified avian vet. The second invoice is an estimate for tomorrow's treatment. it's $1,717.72

We just received from the Momtrose area stating their neighbors' trees were cut down. She was walking and found these three screech owls. We are waiting for her to drop them off.

We got a call from a lady that her father had passed away and Buzzard was in his apartment. The daughter contacted us, and we picked him up yesterday. His dad was a smoker, and when we bathed Buzzard, the water was dark brown. Buzzard has a long way to go he will be getting lab work, wormed, and ni****ne withdrawal.

Ni****ne and Birds.

Ni****ne is absorbed easily through the skin and feathers of birds. The smoke emitted from ci******es will release ni****ne into the air, and ni****ne will settle on surfaces. These surfaces include your bird’s cage, bowls, toys, and the bird itself. When a bird has ni****ne land on their skin from secondhand smoke they will many times pick at their feathers or bite their feet. This is something Buzzard is doing constantly, Some will bite at themselves to the point that they create open wounds. Buzzard ni****ne recovery will include regular baths. This will help to remove ni****ne from his body.

On our way to Plum Grove TX to rescue this young owl that fell from its nest, the homeowner has contacted a few organizations and was unable to receive some help for a day now. This baby will receive the help he deserves and soon will return into the wild.
