I am humbled and honored to be featured in The Chronicle Of The Horse, a magazine I read while growing up in California, before I even knew where Middleburg was!
These past two months have been heartbreaking and gut-wrenching. Shortly after losing Greg Pellegrino, we also lost my wonderful mother-in-law, Annette Pellegrino-fontaine. And last week, my brother, David, also fell very ill.
I have a few take aways from this incredibly trying time. For a lack of a better word, life just simply sucks without Greg. I am pushing through, but there is not a minute that goes by where he is not in my thoughts.
I am beyond blessed to be supported and lifted up by this incredible community. The amount of flowers, food, letters, cards, messages, and phone calls from both strangers and friends alike is so heartwarming and really does make all of this a little easier. When I moved here in 2004, I was only supposed to stay six months, but I fell so in love with this special gem of place that I never left and don’t plan to.
Horses are magically therapeutic and I am so grateful to be spending my days caring and riding for them. They are true healers.
