Caramel Sauce Monkey Bread? Oh yes we did! And they disappeared in seconds.

We used mini tins instead of a huge bunt pan because, let's be real here, Judy and I are the only ones eating these things.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
You can dust the bread balls just as you normally do, arrange them in the pan and pour our caramel sauce over it all and bake. While they bake, the caramel will bubble and work its way into the cracks making the best gooey, sticky amazing concoction your kitchen ever saw. Let us know if you make it!

📸 What a privilege to be a part of Boulder restaurant week and see our sauces featured on menus around town! This luscious Butternut Squash Panna Cotta is on Greenbriar Inn’s First Bite Boulder menu and features squash from their garden and cinnamon vanilla caramel sauce from us, ! Topped with candied walnuts and a dulce chocolate leaf, it’s a delightful creamy and light dessert.

Dearest Loki, the world has lost a ⭐️ This Best in Show goat belongs to a magical vet student at CSU and has been a gift on our farm these past years. He passed away suddenly in our pasture. We were holding him and didn’t know what to do to help him in his last moments. Of course the vet came 5 minutes after he passed. He will be so very missed- his amazing bleat, glorious beard, adorable underbite and stubborn old man ways. It was such a gift to have him here. With pain in loss there is gratitude for each creature we get to know, love and raise. The farm won’t be the same without him. Rest In Peace dear goat and peace to your human mama.

Hi 👋 We’ve taken a SM break because…change & travel.

Author: I’m Amanda! I grew up in Manhattan, traveled the world with an intl’ development job, and now run my own farm in Colorado.

Change: We are continuing to make our delicious Goat Milk Caramel Sauce but plans have changed. 👉 because of insane construction & labor costs, we can’t build a farm dairy. 🐐 I had to reduce our herd so I can have margin in life BUT 🌱we’re still focused on regenerative ag on the farm.

Our feed: Because I don’t have the time or budget for bad a** food photography, I’ll be posting more of our day-to-day: Farming and caramel.

If you’re intrigued by backyard farming, living off grid for food and meat, in addition to caramel infused food p**n, we’ll be adding joyful farm photos and some how-to videos here.

🚨Controversial Post ⚠️ Can we talk cover crops? Mega drought and extreme heat in the US is exacerbated by the fact that a hundreds of thousands of farmland acreage is bare soil for a majority of the year. ☀️Hot air flows over bare soil, 💦water can’t be retained or 🌧evaporate to build rain clouds, all the while soil is baking and degrading.
📸Pictured is the nitrogen fixing vetch we sowed this spring. It is gorgeous, buzzing with 🐝, delicious for the 🐐, and soil ready to retain and hold 💦. There is hope. 🙌There are solutions being adopted by some to reverse what we’ve done to the environment, the earth can absorb carbon at an incredible rate.

Who We Are

I’ve devoted my career to international development and in my recent position as E.D. focused on dairy in developing countries I was inspired and deeply convicted…why not me? What started as 4 chickens in South Boulder has become 12 acres in South West Longmont. Our goal is to rarely step foot in a grocery store and provide an option for our friends and neighbors to have locally sourced delicious and nutritious options. We focus on raising Heritage breed animals and own a portion of Table Mountain in Boulder County thus, Table Mountain Farm.

What is Heritage?

Heritage animals once roamed the pastures of America’s pastoral landscape, the animals you’d find on your great-grandparents farms.These are animals that were bred over time to develop traits that made them suited to specific local environments. They tend to have better disease resistance, are well-adapted to their environments, and thrive in pasture-based settings. Heritage breeds store a wealth of genetic resources that are important for our future and the future of our agricultural food system, but today these breeds are in danger of extinction. Modern agriculture has changed, breeds used in large scale agriculture have been specifically selected for intensive production including rapid growth, feed efficiency, continuous milk or egg production, or other targeted production characteristics. By hosting heritage breeds animals, we are storing a wealth of genetic resources that are important for our future and the future of our agricultural food system.
