Nanny’s Goatstead

Welcome to Nanny’s Goatstead. I have been breeding beautiful, healthy and very much loved ADGA Nigerian Dwarf goats ssince 2012.

I began my journey in Damariscotta, Maine on a micro mini homestead, I recenlty moved to a 15 acre parcel in Bowdoin Maine. Welcome to our mico, mini, hobby goatstead, please look around and stay for awhile. My husband Dave and I (Celista) enjoy raising Nigerian Dwarf goats, primarily as pets but also for their delicious milk. Oh and I must not forget the luxurious soap I make with the milk. We br

eed our Nigerian Princesses to kid in early spring, March or April. We usually have a very limited number kids for adoption around this time, as bottle babies or fully weaned kids. I will post pictures of kids and adoption fees as soon as they become available. I reserve the right to refuse adoption of kids to anyone for any reason. Basically that means if I don't feel they will be properly cared for. Thank you for stopping by and stop by often. I love adding new pictures and videos of our Goats :)

I put a small tack/milking room and hay storage area in the barn today. Then my drill batteries died so I will have to continue tomorrow but one step closer.

I have 4 wonderful does I will be welcoming to the Goatstead as soon as I get the barn and fence done. Hopefully in the next couple of week, 2 of them are currently bred!!!!! I can’t wait for babies 🐐❤️💛I am so appreciative of these two farms for allowing me to add the girls to the Goatstead, help to rebuild the herd and my dreams 🐐🐐🐐🐐As many of you know our family has experienced some brutal blows and devastating loses the last couple of years, so being able to rebuild is an amazing feeling. Thank you so much for everyone who has helped 💛

We did a little more work on the fence yesterday and went barn hunting. I think we found a perfect barn for the Goatstead. I also reserved 3 quality ADGA does from Marbell Acres, two silvers and moonspotted girl. I am so super excited to get them home. Rainbow Koala Farm has graciously allowed us to have two of our founding does back Clarinda and Lacey, we are so excited about that! We are getting closer and closer.

We started our fence today! We decided to go with pallets for a large portion of it because they are fairly inexpensive (2 dollars each) and sturdy! Still a whole lot more work to do but at least we have begun :)

I am excited to announce I am in the process of building a new farm. Due to many unforeseen family circumstances I sold my beloved home last year and have been without my wonderful goat companions. My parents have gifted me 15 acres of land in Bowdoin to rebuild. I am more than excited! Construction has begun and I should be in by winter. I will be on the look out for quality Nigerian Dwarfs and supplies. If you know of someone who has some for sale please let me know. 🐐 Thanks 😊 oh I am also looking for a new farm name, I’d love to hear any snazzy suggestions.
