The Wildwood Pet Network (WPN) was founded in 1996 as a way to quickly reunite lost animals with their families. We have developed a system of procedures and strategies which, when each step is followed, are successful in reuniting the lost animal with their family in almost 90% of cases. We believe that when a wandering animal is found it is vital to think LOST, not stray. Immediate action must b

e taken to safeguard the animal and locate the family. According to national statistics only 14% of lost dogs and 4% of lost cats who are housed in shelters are ever reunited with their families. If every person who finds an animal would make a good faith effort to reunite them with their family our shelters and rescues would only need to take care of truly homeless animals.
