a rented apartment. Being unable to install a pet flap for our two dachshunds, and cat, I designed a pressure mat which could be placed on their usual 'waiting spot' so that I would be alerted by a chime when they needed in, or out. I placed one mat on the cat's favourite window ledge to alert me when he wanted to come in, and one on the inside of the front door so that I was alerted when the dogs needed to go out. The cat instantly knew this was his new home, as he was let in as soon as the chime went off, and the dogs didn't miss their easy access to the outdoors. The mats attracted so much attention from my new neighbours, that I decided to Trademark the name EntryPet and start making more of them. Several of my neighbours have already bought them and say they are relieved to know when their cat is waiting to get in from the cold as they otherwise didn't hear them scratching or meowing outside doors or windows due to internal noise, closed curtains or sound proof double glazing. One neighbour said that the mat quickly helped toilet train their puppy, saving a lot of 'clean ups'. Another said their older dog, whose bladder wasn't as strong as it used to be, was helped greatly by the EntryPet mat in making it out to the garden in time. Dogs in particular get very distressed if they make a mess indoors, as it goes against their instincts.
