Elliott has an October visitor last week. Goes by the name of Floofy. She was here last year, so I guess she stopped by to say hi to her neighbor, tell him of all her adventures since they last saw each other.

Missing my boy this morning. You left us on Summer Solstice. Soon it will be Fall Equinox, a full season without you.

And I've been thinking bout our lifetime
Like I never have before
A hundred years or a hundred days
A hundred times no difference, babe
Promise you I'd want a hundred more

I was sorting my virtual picture box this morning, the never ending chore of organizing photos, 21st century style. My purpose was to finally get ALL of the pictures of our dogs, past and present, into one folder for future, further organization. I knew I had at least one picture of Elliott before his surgery. I had put this comparison together for our neighborhood Facebook group, comparing Elliott (before we named him) to two other stray dogs that had been around at that time. We think they might be litter-mates, but not sure. We are sure that Django and Ghost are litter-mates. They were both strays, and they were captured and adopted and both went to good homes. Date on this is around Dec 2014-Jan 2015

Enjoy having 4 legs again Elliot!!

10 years is a lifetime for most dogs. 10 years is just a bleep in time for love. Elliott's story has now come to an end. Unexpected, and very sudden, he leaves an enormous hole in our lives. He was so very smart, and had the most golden heart I have ever come across. He taught us so much about love, and about trust. He was so terrified of the world, yet to a select few he opened up his heart to us, and once he did, he never held back. I feel very honored to be the one who was gifted with his love, and privileged to spend these 10 years with him.

We will probably be posting some memories here over the next week or so, as we process his departure from us. To those of you who have been with us since that day in 2015 when a poor, feral dog was unlucky enough to be the victim of violence and to lose his leg because of it, and those who helped with support and, especially money, to make it happen that this little dog got a new lease on life, we had no idea what a journey it would be! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! I hope that this page gets picked up in some memory archive and preserved for future generations as a wonderful story of the little dog that could, and the little dog that loved. We will keep this page for as long as we are alive (which could be quite a few more years!)
