We take the welfare of our cats and kittens seriously. Each receives the best in food and vet care, as well as hours of love and cuddling. This year, we are asking for a donation of $225 for a single kitten and $200 each for a pair of kittens. The amount for cats over 1-year-old is still $150. All of our cats are checked out by a vet, vaccinated, spayed/neutered and tested for the FIV and feline leukemia viruses.

🎉 Adoption Announcement! 🎉
🐾We're thrilled to share that Peter, a brave, tame, young stray who came to us with serious bite wounds, has found his forever home—with his foster family! ❤️ Foster fails are the best kind of fails, and we couldn't be happier for Peter and his new family. Wishing them all the love and happiness in the world!
🐾There are more tame strays than ever on the streets. These sweet souls, like Peter, deserve safe, loving homes, so we're asking for your help. Please consider fostering or adopting before the cold weather arrives. Together, we can make a difference! 🏡🐾

🎉Good News🎉
🐾Emmy's foster family decided they could not part with him! Initially, introducing Emmy to their resident cat was a bit of a challenge. This is an excellent reminder that introducing a new cat into your home sometimes requires patience and time.
🐾We also want to highlight this family's incredible commitment to their community. They saw a cat in need, took him in, got him spayed and vetted, and gave him the love and care he deserved—all with minimal involvement from us. Their actions are a shining example of how much of a difference individuals can make in the lives of animals. We wish more people would step up like this family.
🐾Wishing Emmy the happiest life in his forever home! 🏡❤️

🌈 Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day, a time to honor and remember the cherished cats who left us this past year.
🐾We’re thinking of Whiskey, a sweet stray from the streets who found his way to us. Though he was only with us for a day, he left paw prints on our hearts.
🐾We invite you to share a photo of a beloved cat you’ve lost over the past year. Let’s come together today to celebrate their lives. 💖

Non-recognition aggression can occur between cats that know each other and live together. This typically happens when one cat leaves the home—often for a vet visit—and returns with a different scent or altered behavior due to anesthesia or medication. It can also happen if a cat visits a groomer and comes home smelling or looking different.

Scent is crucial for cats in recognizing one another. When a cat returns home smelling of a hospital or with the fragrance of a grooming product, it may seem unrecognizable to the other cat.

The cat that stayed home may start stalking and attacking the returning cat, behaving as if it has never seen the other cat before.

Tips to help prevent or manage non-recognition aggression:

1) Try to take all your cats to the vet at the same time or on the same day. This way, they will all carry the same vet scent, reducing the chances of non-recognition.

2) If your cats are regularly groomed, schedule their grooming appointments for the same day.

3) If you've experienced non-recognition aggression before, take steps to prevent it:
a) Bring the returning cat inside in its carrier, covered with a towel, so the cats can't see each other.
b) Place the cat in a separate room for a few hours to allow it to decompress and to give the other cat time to re-acclimate to its presence.
c) Wipe the returning cat with a blanket that has its scent on it, or wipe both cats with a pet wipe, to help them smell the same and re-establish their bond.

Meet Tom Thumb – A strikingly handsome, spirited, polydactyl youngster...and a parkour expert who enthusiastically bounces, dives, and rolls as he happily frolics about! Tom enjoys playing with people but can also entertain himself. He occasionally joins in on the fun with other cats. His birthday is estimated to be 10/3/23.
🐾Tom's original family sadly tried to dump him at one of our feral cat colonies. Fortunately, one of our volunteers witnessed this happen in real time, intervened, and brought the cat to us.
🐾Like many young boys, Tom can occasionally get a little enthusiastic, which may result in a playful love nip. He just wants to be sure you can hear him! With time and patience, this behavior typically eases as the cat settles into his new home and grows more comfortable with his new family.
🐾Tom Thumb isn't a fan of life in a cage, and he'd like a forever home as soon as possible. In the interim, he's also an excellent candidate for a foster home where he can stretch his legs and enjoy a more comfortable environment while waiting for a forever family. If you're looking for a lively, affectionate companion and you can offer him the understanding and patience he needs, Tom Thumb could be the perfect addition to your home. Are you ready to give Tom Thumb the second chance he deserves?

Meet Ralph Waldo Emerson (also known as Ralphie, Emmy, or Where's Waldo). He got his name because he looked like a little philosopher.
🐾At approximately five months old, he's very playful and affectionate. He loves gentle belly rubs and cuddling up next to people. He is high-energy and loves playing with kids and other cats.
🐾Emmy is a very brave and cheerful kitten who does not seem to realize the seriousness of his abandonment. He was found on a playground happily following 6-year-olds up a jungle gym and sliding down the slide after them.
🐾Emmy would love another young cat to keep him company and share his playful adventures. If you're looking for a funny little philosopher to add joy and energy to your life, Emmy might be the perfect fit!
🐾To meet Emmy, please submit the online adoption application on our website. Adopters must live within 45 miles of Stamford, CT.

🚒 Meet Seagrave – Our Little Firefighter Kitten Hero! 🚒
❤️This adorable kitten has quite the story! Seagrave wandered into a Stamford Fire Station along a busy road, and the kind-hearted firefighters immediately took him under their wing. They called us for help and named him Seagrave after one of the Department’s old fire engines (in the photo).
❤️Though he had some trauma-related injuries, Seagrave is doing well. We’re monitoring his condition and hopeful that he’ll be ready for adoption soon.
❤️Despite everything, Seagrave is a total ham – full of energy, love, and an unbreakable spirit. We can’t thank the firefighters enough for saving this little guy!
❤️Stay tuned for updates on Seagrave’s journey and when he’ll be ready for a forever home. 🏡❤️

🌟 Meet Darius, a cat who's been waiting almost 16 months for his forever home but is far from giving up hope! 🌟
🐾Our volunteers form special bonds with the cats we rescue, and Darius holds a special place in one volunteer’s heart. When we asked what makes him so special, she said: "When I come in, he’s always waiting for me and gets so excited to come out. He always makes sure to say hello by asking for pets and rubbing up against me before he plays with anything, which is just so sweet. He's very patient too. I feel he has a special ability to understand how I’m feeling that day—my mood lol."
🐾Darius has so much love to give and could be the perfect addition to your family. If you're thinking about adopting, consider meeting the cats that have been with us the longest. A cat like Darius could be just what you’re looking for! 💖
🐾Visit our website to learn more about him and submit an adoption application.

🎉 Adoption Announcement! 🎉
🐾We're thrilled to share that three of our brave little adventurers, Azure, Luna, and Vanessa, have found their forever homes! 🏠💖
🐾Their rescue was challenging and stressful. Mom moved these kittens at least 4 times before we could get them, and a coyote or fox was spotted near their last hiding spot. We rescued the entire family with the help of many caring people in the neighborhood and a tenacious volunteer who did the trapping. Azure and Luna are now happily settled in one loving home, while Vanessa has found her perfect match in another. We wish them much happiness.
🐾But the story doesn't end here! Their beautiful brown tabby siblings, Mariposa and Monarch, are in a foster home waiting for their forever family. Could it be you?
🐾Because all these people came together, these kittens will now enjoy the safe, comfortable, loving homes they deserve. 🥰✨

🌟 Foster Update: Eve's Journey 🌟
"Caring for a one-week-old kitten and syringe feeding her around the clock for four weeks was truly a rewarding experience. Watching tiny, fragile Eve grow stronger each day and blossom into a playful bundle of energy has been incredible. The moment she finally weaned onto kitten food felt like such a victory—for her and for me! 🎉 Yay for that milestone and finally getting a full night’s sleep! 😴"
Eve’s transformation is a testament to the power of love and dedication. Fostering can be challenging, but moments like these make it all worthwhile. Visit our website to learn more about fostering.💕

🖤 Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🖤
Meet Angelo, our newest rescue—a sweet black cat who’s had a rough time. Even though we were full, we couldn’t turn our backs on this wounded tomcat. He seems to be quite tame and chatty. He’s safe with us, getting the care he needs, and we know with a little love, he’ll be on the road to recovery soon.
Let’s show some extra love for black cats today—they’re just as magical as they are misunderstood. ✨

Alumni Update: Mason and Rusty have grown into handsome adult cats.😻 We just got this update from their family with a recent photo of the boys on their favorite perch in the sunroom: “Mason is still the happy-go-lucky boy with hardly a care in the world! Rusty is “all orange” and still an absolute purr machine when you pet him and even sometimes when you look at him! They are both characters who have become brothers, and we love them both very much!” Seeing our rescue cats flourish in their forever homes makes all the hard work worth it. 🧡We love your updates! Please keep them coming!
