Another day of leading practice and also Amari's first time getting tied.
What determines our human's decision on when to first tie a baby? Well that's easy when the baby shows consistently to move into to pressure to release it. Once a horse will do that then tieing is easy and non stressful.
Leading progression with Amari. She is definitely more of a whoa than go type of girl.
So our practices paid off for when we did actually have to go somewhere. Last night our human dropped us off to her work so I could get my 16day scan this morning.
Yesterday session was cut short after an sos call from our human's work. The early night watch person failed to turn up so our human was asked if she could cover the shift. She had just got us up to the float so decided to do a short loading session and call it a day before feeding up all her animals hens, cattle, and sheep, and heading back into work.
Day 1 of having the harness off for leading practice. Go is still my sticky point so only a bum rope is really needed now.
Unfortunately the wind changed the angle of the camera on us. But Amari walked on the float without the harness on yesterday!
Like with the earlier float loading video there has been a significant time jump were Amari has had training sessions but not had them videod. Our human is starting to be able to rely less on the harness to lead Amari. She still has sticky point but overall she is doing well.
Well now we are basically caught up with Amari's training. Yesterday our human was able to do and video the training sessions. When it comes to loading these sessions they are as much for me as they are for Amari.
I used to be really good about loading back before my injury and I was traveling often. Then I had a big break between traveling and I stopped having to go places. When our human went to try get my infoal for the first time she discovered I had decided that floats were horse eating monsters and I wanted nothing to do with them.
Amari Zoomies! It's the first time our human has been able to capture them on video!
Well we were going to do some practice yesterday evening which would have been the first time we could video a season in a few days. Unfortunately the weather didn't play ball. Just as we got up to the yard the weather turned with heavy rain thunder, lightning, and hail!
Day two of leading with direction.
Day 2 of float loading. I still have my moments of not wanting to load but getting better. Hopefully Amari will not have my issues.
