🐎 Lessons I'd like my riders to remember from Paris 2024 Olympics 🐎

Every rider in the Olympics first had to learn to walk. Those skills you are working on now; weather it be straightness down your lines, or rhythm in the gaits, or simply mastering your posting trot... Every rider in the Olympics had to work hard to develop these same skills. Keep working hard and you will improve.

We ride in one of the very few sports that keep men and woman equal! This is an honor. Even the horses we ride - both males and females ( stallions, gelding and mares) all compete as equals. This is a great example for the world. It's not about gender, it's about our passion, dedication and perseverance!

Even the best riders, on the best horses in the world still fall! It's OK to fall. It's OK to feel embarrassed. It's OK! You are not the first to fall and you won't be the last. It's not about the fall, it's about getting back on the horse and trying again. Falling is part of this sport. Yet those who rise again, learn from the moment and get stronger.

We ride in a sport that embraces the young and the old. Both with riders and horses. Allow this lesson to remind you that you can keep following this passion throughout your life. You may not be a champion this year, but keep working and you could be the best in the world at 65 years old. You have plenty of time to enjoy this sport. And that young horse of yours, if managed well has a long career as well.

Sometimes luck is on your side and sometimes it's not. Over and over, throughout the show jumping we saw one horse touch a rail and it stay up while another touched it and it fell with the 4 fault penalty.

Chips, long spots, refusals and eliminations still happen at the top levels. Perhaps lighten up on yourself when you have a bad course. It's OK and the next one could be better.

This sport often brings our highest highs and our lowest lows. From tears of joy to tears of failure. You are not alone. The very best in the world left the ring today and some had tears for not reaching their dreams. Don't let that keep you from putting on your big boy pants tomorrow and working harder. And please stay humble on your days of glory.

But the most important thing to remember is we are in this for the love of our horse. So give that horse a treat when he comes out of the ring, pat her lovingly no matter of you came in first or last and please, if you fall... be like King Edward rider and kiss the horses muzzle softly before you exit the ring!

Homeschool Horsemanship 🐎🐎 Registration 🐎🐎

All classes are now full except for Thursday 4-6 teen group.

Homeschool Horsemanship is a hands on class that develops safe and fun relationships between horse and handler. This class promotes a well rounded learning experience. Each participant will be encouraged to strive to be their best. Equestrian WISH requires participants to pay attention and follow directions. Horseback riding is a part of Horsemanship, but it is not the primary focus in this class. Homeschool Horsemanship teaches many aspects of true horsemanship, including equine psychology and communication, anatomy, health and over all care of horse, tack and farm responsibilities.
