UPDATE
Wanstead Rugby Club invoke fury

Wildlife haters Wanstead Rugby Club have continued their silence over their planned Canada goose massacre and have removed most of their social media and blocked anyone even vaguely critical of them.

EVEN WORSE is the fact that their precious rugby club is absolutely pristine with hardly any geese or poo which the President, Michael Calvert, is claiming is a health and safety risk. Murderous Mike clearly has some kind of alterior motive.

They clearly are hiding their heads in the sand and with no public commitment to stop this cull or stop any in the future, we must continue to pressure the club.

Contact those responsible and demand they work with London Wildlife Protection and publicly commit to never considering culls to manage wildlife conflicts again:

⚠️ UPDATE: the golf club clearly think that if they keep their heads down and say nothing then they can get away with this - please keep up your efforts and don’t give up! We will update when we have any further information but please keep the pressure on for these rabbits ✊

🚩🐰 URGENT ACTION REQUIRED PLEASE 🐰🚩 Please SHARE widely

We have been informed that Bishops Stortford Golf Club have engaged a shooter to kill rabbits on their golf course.

Please contact them as a matter of urgency to make your views about their murdering bunnies in the name of a leisure activity known.

Please be polite but explain that this solution is deplorable and ask that alternative humane solutions be used instead, such as deterrents. We can help them to find an acceptable solution through our contacts if needed.

Shooting rabbits also poses risks to locals and other wildlife. The rules of golf and/or special local rules can be created to allow golfers to move their ball out of rabbit holes and scrapes, so we do not see any justification whatsoever in killing them. Indeed, the population will recover quickly to the same level so it will become a never ending task.

Killers massacre wildlife at Croham Hurst Golf Club, Croydon

Earlier this week South London Sabs were alerted to a 'stink pit' of shot and bludgeoned foxes on the edge of a Croydon golf course. The horrifically heartbreaking sight of skeletal remains, rotting corpses and fresh bodies initiated a team effort to stop this unbelievably brazen act of animal cruelty.

More often than not golf clubs themselves are responsible for these heinous acts in order to keep their greens 'presentable' but in a welcome change from the norm Croham Hurst Golf Club have stepped forward as progressive example to all clubs around the UK that continue to kill.

After a thorough investigation by South London Animal Protection, it appears the perpetrators are trespassers on the land. Far from the norm and with the assistance of South London Animal Protection Croham Hurst Golf Club have taken the following measures:

1. Reported the Crime to the police (CAD 2817-01/02/22)
2. Are looking into increasing their CCTV
3. Asked SLAP to put up trail cams where they suspect the activity to be taking place
4. Emailed all their members of the situation asking for vigilance and that if any suspicious activity os seen to report to the police immediately
5. Informed local dog walking groups
6. Enlisted the help of the local Police Safer Neighbourhood Team

Following statement from the club:
"...You have our full and total support in stopping this from happening. I've also heard that the emails I have sent to the members has been passed on to the local dog walking groups and the Croham Hurst Woods walking clubs so there's an army of people being vigilant and keeping their eyes peeled. We will not tolerate this on our land" Janine Landymore - Club Coordinator

Sometimes even we are suprised, and when an organisation steps up and does the right thing we must value that. Through their actions this golf club has shown that lethal wildlife management is totally unnecessary in any setting and how embracing animals only enriches experiences like golf. Additionally the community pulling together to fight this barbarism is an example of how everyone can play a part in combatting animal cruelty.

We may never identify the perpetrators but because of this mammoth team effort we have, as much as humanly possible, enabled the safety of the remaining foxes.

To these criminals: we are watching you. We will always be watching you.

Staff, supporters and riders of the Essex and Suffolk Hunt use violence to deter hunt saboteurs from intercepting an illegal Fox Hunt on New Year's Day 2022. Robert Cundy violently assaulted multiple peaceful saboteurs while an unnamed rider laughed as she used the horse she rides as a disposable tool and weapon in an attempt to run over sabs.

THE PORTSMOUTH PIGEONS STILL NEED YOUR HELP

Private Portsmouth Patient Transport Services have hidden behind the NHS South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust, change their story multiple times and lie through their teeth to cover breaking the law to slaughter wildlife.

South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trustt have responded on behalf of the private Portsmouth Transport
Services in regards to the leak of information exposing their plan to expand their unlawful bird culling activities at their Portsmouth Ambulance Station, first by not answering callers but redirecting them endlessly between departments however one receptionist did spill that "information has been leaked" (gotcha!), then stating to multiple callers that it was all made up and a personal attack on the
Manager, John Edwards who orchestrated the cull. They finally settled on just saying "no comment" and hanging up (following legal advice maybe?). However, after realising this excuse would not be good enough, they have said in a statement on their website that the pigeon cull taking place on January 6th is "categorically untrue". They've then gone about setting the scene of NHS workers
receiving abuse to add a smokescreen and distraction to the unlawful and disgusting plan to slaughter the birds. Also a worthy shoutout to The News, Portsmouth for publishing this article
(https://www.portsmouth.co.uk/news/people/nhs-trust-blasts-untrue-and-irresponsible-facebook-post-spreading-rumours-of-a-supposed-pigeon-culling-at-a-portsmouth-ambulance-station-as-staff-say-theyhave-faced-significant-abuse-3516657) where they just quote the SCAS statement as fact and call it
news, can Hampshire Live do better?

We've put together this analysis of their statement to understand the facts: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1DZ174ESbEHyXZHNJnzk67B8v3iewtbEC/view?usp=sharing

THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. WE WILL NOT STOP UNTIL South Central Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust COMMIT TO WORKING WITH BCCSi, London Wildlife Protection OR US TO IMPLEMENT A NON-LETHAL WILDLIFE POLICY.

Unlawful New Years slaughter for hundreds of birds planned at the private Portsmouth Ambulance station P03 6EJ on 6th January 2022.

Known wildlife hater John Edwards, Manager of private Portsmouth Patient Transport services has orchestrated a scientifically invalid and unlawful mass killing of birds at the Portsmouth Ambulance Station.

The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 requires reasonable non-lethal options to be used before lethal management can take place. It is reported to us that options have been ignored with John Edwards preferring instead to break the law and "shoot the vermin".

We are told unlawful shooting has already occurred throughout 2021 with members of the public reporting bodies being piled up in local bins.

We need you to help us stop the killing!!
Share our post and demand the South Central Ambulance Service stop the cull and work with non lethal bird control experts BCCSi (http://www.bccsi.co.uk/) to solve any issues without slaughter.

What a result to see Mark Hankinson found guilty today!

At Westminster court Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram said "I am sure that the defendant through his words was giving advice on how to illegally hunt with dogs."

Master of Foxhounds Association (MFHA) director Mark Hankinson has been found guilty of encouraging others to break the Hunting Act following a three day trial at Westminster Magistrates Court.   The court case came about after the HSA exposed online webinars run by the Hunting Office in August ...

This morning we met up with Sabs from Beds & Bucks Hunt Sabs, Peterborough Hunt Sabs, East Herts Sabs, North London Hunt Saboteurs and South Coast Hunt Sabs, to pay a visit to the Kimblewick who were cubbing in Markyate, Hertfordshire.
Between the teams of sabs we kept on them all day moving them on and stopping any hunting, despite their efforts to lose us moving from cover to cover.
The police predictably tried to keep us out of action stopping sab vehicles throughout the day, but foot sabs pressed on regardless.

Brutal slaying of Buzzards.

Footage of cruel & illegal Buzzard trapping has been bravely acquired and publicly released, exposing the horrifyingly common killing of wildlife by Game Keepers.

Birmingham Live has broken the shocking news of intentionally trapped birds of prey, a practice which goes on on game reserves across the UK, and finally undeniable proof is out there.

A multitude of traps including cruel wooden raptor traps, were discovered on a game estate, including one with a Buzzard trapped inside. Thankfully these relentless activists released this one lucky bird before it was too late.

appreciation group and bird lovers work tirelessly to promote the protection of these precious birds of prey.

Activists like those who exposed this cruelty are constantly striving to save lives against a tidal wave of those that seek to destroy our British wildlife.

We stand with the courageous people who have outed these barbaric practices and ask you to join us in the condemnation of evil game keepers.

Phil Kerry has now applied for a Rabbit slaughter facility and dwelling on his Atlow farm site, in Hognaston, Derbyshire. This is the same site which was recently investigated by Animal Aid.

Please take the time to send a direct objection to Derbyshire Dales District Council if you are able, as written objections are what carry the most weight when considering a planning application.

Register your opposition at the following link by creating an account and ‘commenting’ on the proposal:
https://planning.derbyshiredales.gov.uk/online-applications/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=makeComment&keyVal=QNW46UFUGQW00

Alternatively, you can email your objection to [email protected]
Include the planning reference 21/00130/FUL along with your full name and postal address in order for it to be valid.

Please feel free to elaborate upon the following bullet points in your objection. Keep in mind that unfortunately, moral objections do not hold weight in planning considerations, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t voice your moral concerns alongside any ‘valid reasons’. Ask for welfare to be made a material consideration during the review of planning permission applications involving animals - particularly in this case as there is NO species-specific legislation protecting the welfare of farmed rabbits in the UK, on-farm or at slaughter.

- The proposed location is near to Carsington Water, a hugely popular tourist attraction. The construction of a rabbit slaughterhouse nearby, a point of great contention in current public attitudes, is likely to dissuade many people from visiting the area.
- In the application form, the question “Does the proposal involve the need to dispose of trade effluents or trade waste?” is answered as “no” - yet the slaughter process again creates a great deal of waste, such as blood and offal, much of which is foul-smelling - yet there is nothing in the proposal to outline how this waste will be dealt with and prevented from contaminating the local area.
- The road on which the slaughterhouse shall be accessed is a narrow lane with poor visibility, the increase in traffic and heavy goods vehicles shall surely cause issues.
- Presumably, the carcasses of rabbits are to be disposed of via waste contractor lorries, AKA “offal wagons” as outlined in previous applications - another source of horrendous smells and disruptive noise.
- Mention the hazardous substances used in fur production and ask how these would be managed, disposed of and prevented from contaminating the surrounding area.
- As rabbit farming and killing is something which is highly frowned upon in current public attitudes, the slaughterhouse and farm would likely attract protests and unwanted attention, disrupting and upsetting locals and visitors to the popular area. Particularly given the widespread attention that the applicant’s recent farm applications to other Councils has drawn via social media and other outlets.
- The elevated buildings would create significant visual harm to the immediate setting and surrounding environment. Large unsightly ‘modern’ styled buildings are not in keeping with the surrounding area, which is largely undeveloped.
- The scale of the proposed development would have an adverse impact on the character and appearance of this tranquil rural area.
- It is becoming more and more challenging for this site to be reverted back to its original state and purpose, a wildlife haven and rich pasture land.
- The use of a rifle as 'pest control' 24 hours a day will present a significant safety problem.
- No ecological impact report has been conducted for the proposed site - given the rural location, it is likely to be habitat for multiple animal and plant species, many of which may be endangered or otherwise protected.
- Question why a modern three-bedroomed house claimed to be suitable for 5 occupants is required for the single worker who is needed to live on site. The application states no further employees will be taken on as a result of this proposal.

Please follow the following link to view useful advice on objecting given by Animal Aid - https://www.animalaid.org.uk/help-stop-a-rabbit-processing-facility-setting-up-at-the-ts-rabbits-derbyshire-site/

Please also sign our petition here: http://www.change.org/NoRabbitSlaughterhouseInDerbyshire

Please contact Derbyshire Dales District Council via Twitter - tweet and politely ask them to object to the proposal.

EDIT:

Stanmore golf club have taken down their social media and aren’t responding to any negative comments.

It’s with heavy hearts that we report that Stanmore Golf Club have completed their annual shooting of Foxes and juveniles. Though they continue to deny this needless slaughter local residents and eyewitnesses have submitted their horrified statements.

So what can we do now? The answer is plenty. Together we can make sure this NEVER happens again.

Many gold clubs have listened to the public and ceased these pointless barbaric practices because they DON’T WORK. If they did, why would it happen every year.

We are begging you, at a time in history when life has descended into hell on earth for innocent animals that we protect the ones we can reach. When so much is out of our control this is within our power.

Call, email, message, tweet, post, share. Make your voices heard. YOU count, the FOXES count and their lives are with more than a round of golf.

URGENT CALL TO ACTION
The Taliban are threatening Afghanistani dog rescues such as Nowzad - the staff and animals need our help.

Nowzad will soon be visited by the Taliban who quite likely can kill either the resident animals and
/or staff, especially Nowzad founder and Ex UK marine commander Pen Farthing who served to fight against the Taliban. We need to urgently plea MPs to help Pen, his 71 staff and all the resident dogs and animals in the shelter to escape what will soon be an absolute nightmare. Companies are throwing jobs at the staff but they need the government’s help to get out of the country as they are currently trapped.

Please urgently contact these MPs to consider this matter in Parliament tomorrow and please contact your local MP to get these staff and animals out.

‼️🦅 SENSELESS DEATH AT THE VERMONT 🦅‼️

For the 4th year on the trot the Vermont key side hotel has been wilfully allowing the slow TORTUROUS death of globally endangered, red listed Kittewikes.

The Vermont has ignored the guidance of Newcastle city council who state that netting should only be when they can ensure no risk fatalities, regular checks and maintenance.

We now need YOU, the public to contact the hotel, contact the council, and help us to stop this senseless loss of life.

Instead of using the services of the non lethal company foxagon they have opted to spend tens of thousands murdering foxes while simultaneously making redundancies.
