Should I Get A Rescue Dog Webinar Information
Hi everyone,
This video is giving a further insight into why I am putting the 'SHOULD I GET A RESCUE DOG' webinar together for everyone.
I look forward to hearing from you x
Daphne is another dog on the Help at Hand for Dogs Rehabilitation Programme.
She is now 11 years old and after help in ensuring she was able to settle in to a home (after 8 years in a shed), we have gone through a step by step programme to ensure she calmly engages in new situations, mental stimulation and gets the chance to explore every day life.
She is now fully supported with the programme for hydrotherapy which is hugely benefitting Daphne. As you can imagine, after so many years in a confined space her body needs assistance.

Ricky is another dog on the Help at Hand Rehabilitation Programme.
He is in rescue in Shropshire, and came in feeling very unsure, rejected and overwhelmed with what was happening. He responded so well to the work we have been doing, and shows how happy and lovely he is when given a little time. I want to progress this further to incorporate more experiences of life, every day activities etc to help him build confidence and find the home he deserves.

CALM Dogs
Whether it is our ability to be calm, or our dogs. The importance is never to be underestimated because it is how we best learn and remember information, become confident and enjoy what we are doing.
When dogs have concerns about something it is easy to think they must confront their fears head on and for the process to be done quickly. But there is a great, and not so stressful way of working with things that help them take their time, sniff and process which I love to work with.
This gorgeous girl had a very difficult past and she she had no choice in what she had to deal with. Consequently in a new home where she has been recovering brilliantly with some fabulous people, she can show just how concerned she is about other dogs when out on a walk.
So one thing I have always loved to do is let the dogs explore using their noses, so lots of different animal smells get incorporated into a safe place for a sensory exploration!
This is Daphne really sniffing and exploring some dog hair at her own pace and really engaging in it with an inquisitive mind, having the chance to process, learn, have the time she needs, sleep if she needs to and just take in all the information that it will provide for her without getting stressed, worried or losing the ability to think clearly through anxiety.
It's one of the steps in rehabilitation I have loved to use, and can help these dogs gain confidence slowly but surely whilst they are calm and able to think clearly without over stimulation.
