Early this morning at 2am Yorkie Chase was having what I thought was a seizure. I had not fallen asleep yet as I am typically up with Chase every two hours to change his p*e pads in his area by my bed because he does not like any odor on them. Due to him receiving sub cutaneous fluids 5 times a week for his stage 2 kidney disease and he just saw his internist on Monday, we are up through the night because he has to p*e every two hours. I had just changed his pad and put him back in bed and within a few minutes I heard whimpering. I turned the light on and he was having a seizure like episode. I really thought he was passing. We raced him to VCA ER and they do not believe it was a seizure based on how I described his symptoms and after their diagnostics. Due to his very narrow trachea he may have had it constrict in an area and he did not receive air momentarily which leads to lack of oxygen and scares them as they struggle to breathe. They did not believe he threw another clot since he is on Clopidogrel. Chase started on hydrocodone on Monday and has been doing very well on it at a low dose. This was the first episode he has had like this. So we are managing his kidney disease, his narrow trachea and his ability to throw clots which he is on medicine for.Poor guy is also blind and weak on his legs. If anyone would like to make a donation to Chase's ongoing medical care it would be greatly appreciated as we have 5 Yorkies in the rescue that are "forever fosters" or have not been adopted in over a year to year and half that we provide all ongoing medical for and food and grooming and we are now fundraising for. Our funds are so very low. Today Chase is eating and resting comfortably. Thank you for your support❤
