We are a foster based rescue out of Illinois. We are a rescue in the Chicagoland area with foster homes in many suburbs.

We focus primarily on saving animals from 2 high-kill shelters in rural Kentucky. Our primary business locations are in Batavia and Plainfield, IL. We do not have a shelter for viewing animals. We are 100% foster home based and schedule meet and greets with approved applications only. We also hold adoption events so please keep an eye on our page for dates and times!

This beauty is aptly named Sugar. Sugar is the sweetest thing and has been enjoying the sweet life in her foster home with the resident cats and dog. She's got the most adorable bob tail and a friendly personality!

Kulia raised her last set of kittens in our care and meeting her you'd never know she was a mama cat to 7 babies. She's a tiny girl who LOVES to run. Her favorite thing is going full speed from one end of her foster home to the other! She's very affectionate and friendly and gets along well with other cats in the home.

At only 9 months old, Josie is still considered a kitten. She's a daintly little girl who loves to play and is super affectionate. She would love a home with another kitty friend if possible. Josie is being fostered with her siblings Amanda and Veronica as well as some doggie buddies!

She had a foster but, it feel through and now she can't get on the freedom ride tonight.

Bacardi has been at the shelter a month. She’s surrounded by barking pups all day but is so calm despite the environment 🥰 please foster her if you can! If not please share!

We need a foster or foster to adopt for Ghost! Ghost is a lovely, energetic, happy Malinois/Shepherd mix boy. RIght now he is in a small apartment and he is not getting the playtime/walks/games attention that he needs. He is SO smart. Who can step up for this boy? He is about 1.5 years old. His family is surrendering him and we need somewhere for him ASAP. He deserves the right family.

Candi was found with her 5 siblings and it was quickly discovered that she had horrible injuries on her lower torso. She was immediately taken to a vet clinic and has spent a week hospitalized. She has been undergoing vital wound care and life saving support. Candi is doing so much better and is ready for rescue so that she can move forward towards a beautiful future. Today we are asking for donations to help with the medical care that she’s been receiving. We also need a foster family to care for her as she continues to recover and help her find her forever family. Please contact [email protected] if you can foster.

**New foster home needed for Willow!** She made it out of the overcrowded shelter but needs a new place to crash. Willow is an active loving terrier girl. At just 22 pounds at a year old, she’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. Willow is too playful for the resident dog so it would be best if she moved to a home with another playful dog or no dogs. She is super smart and absolutely LOVES cuddling on the couch with her humans.

Can you help? Starfish will provide all of the supplies and pay for any medical care needed while Willow is being fostered. We just need YOU to provide the home.

The mission of Starfish Animal Rescue is to rescue animals from high kill shelters, provide transportation of these animals to secure, non-kill establishments, to promote and facilitate responsible pet ownership, and to intervene in cases of animal cruelty. We commit to eliminating euthanasia of companion animals in North America one shelter at a time.

We are a rescue in the Chicagoland area with foster homes in many suburbs. Our primary business locations are in Batavia and Plainfield, IL.
