🐾🐶FOSTER NEEDED!!!🐾🐶

Molly was a stowaway last transport and a generous foster agreed to temporary foster her when the puppy that she was supposed to get missed his freedom ride. The puppy that she committed to fostering will be arriving next transport on 5/3 which means that Molly needs to find her permanent foster or foster to adopt!

Molly is a spunky and sweet 5-month-old Lab mix puppy who’s ready to bring joy and energy into her forever home. This playful girl loves zooming around the yard, chasing her toys, and best of all—treat time! She's incredibly smart and eager to please—she already learned “sit” in just a few days and is doing wonderfully with her house training.

Molly is quickly getting the hang of crate time and now settles in with just a few minutes of fuss. She adores being around her people and enjoys car rides, making her a great little adventure buddy in the making. Small children do make her nervous so we suggest a home with kids 8 and older. With her lovable personality, quick learning, and puppy charm, Molly is the perfect companion for someone ready to give her the love and structure she needs to grow into the amazing dog she's meant to be. Nelly is attending the Hawk Subaru adoption event today! Come out and meet her from 11am-3pm!

Hi, my name is Nelly. I came up from Kentucky to Illinois for the Christmas holiday and since I have been here I have been enjoying my new comfy life and all my new toys. I have not met a toy that I haven’t liked, but I tend to like the ones that my foster sister has the best . I play a strong game of tug and am learning to love fetch as I run super fast. I get a little excited at times when I am having a lot of fun playing so I need a house that has older kids.As much as I play I love naps and I sleep through the night with my foster mom but they say I snore really LOUD. I love love ,kisses and hugs from everyone . I am a little over a year old and weigh 45 pounds. I am potty trained with timing and crate trained. I enjoy my morning and evening walks . I don’t like getting into a car cause that is still really new to me but I love riding and looking out the windows the entire drive after I get in. . If my water bowl is empty I will bring it to you to show you. I love all dogs big and small! I’ve learned to sit and lay down and many other things, so my foster family says I’m super smart . If you wanna lay on the couch, I definitely can be your cuddly blanket, if you can get past my snoring . I take all my treats super gentle and enjoy my food . I am inquisitive and eager to learn. I am athletic girl who will want to exercise a lot as I am young and silly .

‼️‼️Fosters Needed‼️‼️

These 4 scruffy babies need a foster to step up so they can make their freedom ride Saturday May 3. They are about 9 weeks old and weighing in at a whopping 5 pounds. There are 3 male and 1 female. Mom is a scuffy but, we don't know what dad was.

These must be fostered in pairs of 2 due to age. Fostering is free. You provide the loving home and Starfish will provide the food and medical.

🐾ADOPTABLE DOG OF THE DAY! 🐾

Rowan is a goofy, adorable and curious puppy looking for an active forever home. He was born around 2/8 and looks to be a lovely mix of Vizla/lab etc... we think he will be a larger medium sized dog when full grown. He loves other dogs and almost all people. He enjoys car rides, exploring new forest preserves and being the center of attention. He is very smart and quick to learn new commands. He gets along well with his older foster brother and loves wrestling and playing tug of war. When not annoying his foster brother, Rowan enjoys playing fetch (although sometimes his puppy ADD kicks in and the game ends quickly) But Rowan is also the best of both worlds because he loves to snuggle with his humans just as much as he loves to play. Rowan starts and ends every day with his very unique and dramatic long yawns. He will do best with an active family and if there is another dog make sure that dog wants to play!

Annie is a gentle 1 yf old Shepherd/Lab mix weighing about 45 lbs who is thriving in a loving foster home. Since being rescued, she’s blossomed into a joyful, treat-loving companion—even though she’s still a bit shy and needs a patient, loving home.

Annie enjoys playing with her stuffed toys and resident dogs, and she’s already mastered sitting (with “down” in progress!). She’s a natural at catching treats, and her heartwarming morning wiggles show just how excited she is to see you. Annie is fully housebroken and loves playing with the resident dog.. She will need a home with a fully fenced in yard and a quiet home with adults only or respectful children 10+ is preferred. Meet Coral.

Coral is an adorable, playful, and affectionate puppy born in November 2024.

She is a Golden Retriever/Bernese Mountain Dog/ Poodle mix, aka “Golden Mountain Doodle”. This mix is known to have a very desirable temperament: gentle, playful and intelligent. Also, her coat is the non-shedding variety making her a great choice for a companion with this attribute. She weighs approximately 30lbs now and is expected to reach 50-60lbs when fully grown.

Coral is working hard on mastering many important skills, such as potty training and walking on a leash. She is eager to please and will make great strides with positive reinforcement. Coral will do best with someone that is willing to commit to the necessary time and patience required with all the fun and challenging components of puppyhood.

Coral quickly learned how to walk up and down the stairs, jumping on the bed, and that playing with toys is so much fun! Two of her favorite activities consist of following the other pups as they explore the backyard and fetching balls. She also likes to find and carry branches and sticks she finds on her expeditions.

Coral would do great in a home with dog/s – not sure how she is with cats. She enjoys playing with the dogs she shares home with now – she follows them everywhere, plays chase, and even steals their toys when they’re not looking.

She loves attention and will follow their person wherever they go.

She has sharp puppy teeth and is in the active chewing stage – she keeps busy with chew toys and needs supervision to prevent doing harm to herself or damaging items in her surroundings for the time being. We would like to place her in a home with older kids (10+), another playful dog, and a home with a securely fenced in yard (no invisible fences)

Bubbles adores winter frolics, especially when playing with her two resident beagle pals, and her gentle, energetic nature makes her perfect for a family that enjoys outdoor fun and cozy evenings.

Housebroken and well-mannered, Bubbles gets along great with other dogs. She would thrive in an active home with plenty of space—ideally a fenced yard—and lots of love. Rusty is a 2-year-old Puggle (Pug + Beagle mix) with a heart as big as his energy levels! Weighing in at about 26 pounds, this handsome little guy is the perfect size for cuddles and adventures.

Rusty loves all people but wants to be your one and only BFF and cuddlebug. he would need to be the only dog in the home and will reward you with lots of kisses!

🐾ADOPTABLE DOG OF THE DAY! 🐾

Introducing the prettiest princess in all of the land 👑Miss Princess Patty!👑Patty has been in rescue for OVER 2 YEARS NOW! Early on after she was rescued, vets found a mass that was bleeding into her abdomen. Vets were unsure what it was or if she would even survive. The mass ended up disappearing and she has no residual issues involving it! Truly a miracle!

How on earth has this perfect princess not find her forever home? Patty is wagging her tail 24/7, she is always in a good mood and will for sure make you smile and laugh when you are together. She is around 60 lbs and 7 years old. When she is very excited she will do what we call, “The Patty Dance”. (You will just fall over in awe when you watch her do this) Princess Patty does not require much exercise, yes she is a little on the piggy side, but don’t judge her! She has arthritis in her hips and knees so too much running around makes her tired and sore. Miss Patty prefers to be the only pet in the house. She just wants to Netflix and chill with her people! She is very low maintenance. Please consider adopting the most wonderful girl around! I mean, a princess must have her very own castle, right?

Miss Patty just recently had her 6 month pro heart vaccine which means her heartworm preventative is covered for 6 months! Starfish is also sponsoring 1 full year of pain medication for her arthritis. 💊💊💉

We want to thank everyone who participated in the transport this weekend. We realize it is still in progress but we are very appreciative that even on a holiday weekend, our fosters, volunteers and rescue partners have made these animals a priority. We will always be grateful.
