Due to road conditions Rosewood Pet Hospital will be closed tomorrow 1/6/25. If you have an appointment scheduled you’ll be receiving a phone call tonight to reschedule. We’re sorry for any inconvenience but we want to make sure everyone stays safe. We anticipate normal hours 1/7/25. Stay safe if you have to go out!

Please be aware and alert IDNR if you see anything concerning. Also please try to keep indoor/outdoor cats inside if possible as cats seem to be very susceptible to this strain which can cause sudden respiratory and neurological symptoms.

IDNR is monitoring a large event of waterfowl mortality at numerous locations throughout Illinois. Test results received so far indicate highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) is the cause.

-Do not handle or attempt to capture waterfowl or other wild birds displaying signs of illness.

-Report concentrations of five or more deceased birds found at one location to IDNR district wildlife biologists: https://wildlifeillinois.org/idnr-district-wildlife-biologist/

-Do not send dying or dead birds to veterinarians, wildlife refuges, etc., for testing. Instead, notify your local health department or alert IDNR wildlife biologists in cases of five or more deceased birds found in one location.

Even Santa’s reindeer need veterinary care! This clinic has been certified an official “Santa’s E.L.V.E.S.” (Emergency Landing and Veterinary Expert System) location.

In the event that Santa’s reindeer team needs to make an unscheduled Christmas Eve stop for sled repairs, refueling, or veterinary care, staff at this clinic will be available to provide needed assistance and ensure a safe and on-time delivery of Santa’s cargo.

While we’ll be available for Santa and his reindeer we will be closed to the public for the next 2 weeks. We will reopen for normal hours 1/6/25. Should you have an emergency during that time we recommend reaching out to VEG at 314-970-2545.
