Instructors (Mike, Ann, Dave) explained the “why” behind everything we did, starting with a foundation to building on each class with daily practice and how to progress. Highly recommend this course for dogs of any age and background. DJ came from a shelter and this class really helped strengthen our bond. Praise as reward is much more effective and longer-lasting that treats!”

Thank you so much for having this fantastic program! It is incredible and has been life changing for my family.
Before attending this program, my now 10 month old Rottweiler Harley had several issues. He would often get aggressive towards me on walks, multiple times on a single walk. Sometimes I'd be thinking, I hope someone comes around the corner soon to help me get this guy under control. He had some aggression issues at home too, and it was starting to put a lot of stress on my family.
We found Cal Search K9 by a miracle. A random encounter with another dog owner on a walk, who referred me to the Doggy Den Kennel. From my first encounter with Ann and the Doggy Den Staff, I knew I had found the place that could get me the help I needed. Mike at Cal Search K9, along with Ann, and another fine gentleman Dave, run the training program and I signed up as quickly as possible.
Days 1 and 2 at training, Harley's true colors were showing as he got aggressive with me and staff during the training, and I was shown how to make the corrections and get Harley under control. Throughout the training, Harley's behavior slowly improved, as I was following the guidelines and being very consistent with corrections and rewarding positive behavior.
Eight weeks later, Harley completed the training program and scored First Place! He no longer gets aggressive on walks, and the stress levels at home are minimal now, just normal things that you would expect from a big puppy.
I cannot recommend this training program enough. Mike makes the sessions really fun! He is a great guy who tells you how it is, and does it with humor. Ann and Dave are equally amazing! We will continue to work on Harley's training and we will definitely use them again for future more advanced training.

Kelly and K-9 Tommy…
We cannot thank Mike, Ann and Dave enough for the instruction we received at Cal Search K9.
After being at a shelter, the rescue and returned twice we rescued Tommy when he was about 10 months old. He was fantastic with our little dog at home but an extremely wild boy! He didn’t seem to understand love but slowly began to trust us. After some time, he realized he could trust us and now loves nothing more than belly rubs and kisses. He was hard to walk, pulling and lunging at other dogs and very protective of myself and the home. I was referred to Mike by a friend and thankfully found him. This class changed everything! In the beginning weeks, he caused a bit of commotion during class…barking through class and lunging when possible. Mike and Ann both helped provide us with the tools to correct this. Week by week he improved. We put in the daily work and it showed through Tommy. Every question and concern we had was always answered. I cannot express how much gratitude we have for this team. We can now walk Tommy in a heel position without pulling. He sits, stays and recalls on command and continues to improve each day! Tommy learned and improved so much that he graduated 2nd in class! We are so proud of Tommy! We are so thankful we rescued him and found the right team to help us train him. We will continue to take what we have learned and keep the training going! I highly recommend this class for all dog owners. It will improve your relationship with your dog in no time at all!

Sonic is our second dog we’ve trained with Mike and his team. He’s a hyper, mini Aussie, with a crazy herding drive to chase cars, bikes, kids, dogs, etc., basically anything that moved. My husband and kids refused to walk him because he was such a terror on the streets.
Sonic started training as one of the worst dogs and ended training with a second place finish in the class. He’s a completely new dog with a new found respect for our family hierarchy. He’s happier, we’re happier. It’s life changing to be out in public with him and not have to worry about him barking and lunging at everything.
Mike’s class is not easy. It’s intensive for both owner and dog and requires homework at least 4-5 days a week to get the most out of your dog and class. But, if you put in the work, you’ll have a much happier dog and harmonious household. We’ve proved this twice now with our Golden and Aussie.
I would 100% recommend this course.

Customer Testimonial...
I felt so helpless with my German Shepherd R***r. He was over the top Kujo on leash. At the first couple of classes, R***r and I would stand on the outer edges, not even really participating due to his poor manners. By graduation day, R***r could hold a down/stay off leash, right next to and along with all his classmates! Mike Grossman and Ann are my saviors. They have great training and know how each dog functions and the best methods to train the handlers as well as the dogs. They both will spend however much time required to answer all questions and work out a great training plan for you and your dog. Highly recommend Cal Search K9 Training Academy.
