Check out this gentle giant Roger… an absolute angel all 19 hands of him!! Roger stood like a star for his teeth rasping with me wobbling around on a wall, but because he is such a gent he lowered his head to help me out, don’t often do draft horses so was lovely to work with the big softie and look into his huge kind eyes

The absolutely marvellous Maurice what a dude!! Such a good boy to have his teeth done and a reminder all horses, donkeys and ponies require dental checks and treatment not just the ridden horses.. companions,retired,broodmares,miniatures every horse deserves to be loved and all their welfare needs met so please make sure your equine friends are up to date with their dental checks

Been a fun day helping on the BAEDT student training course consisting of theory and practical, the standard of work was really good I think all students left feeling positive with plenty of tips to improve further, but most importantly their progress was immense! Each students skill had really improved due to the course and their mentors. Hard work pays off so keep going and well done

Spent Thursday and Friday helping out on the pre exam, all the students have successfully passed the theory exam and now the next step is the practical next month… they all did so well, refining their technique and taking onboard advice and tips from really experienced EDT’s and vets such a good opportunity and experience to be a part of, I wish them all the best of luck for the exam and success for the future

🥰 feeling the love with a lovely review, Mabel has been a little cheeky for her young jockey and was displaying signs of discomfort with the bit and reluctance to go forward,her owner booked her vet to come and sedate her so we could extract two large wolf teeth, Mabel is going to have a week without a bit in her mouth then hopefully she will be more comfortable….and keep her antics to when she is tuned out playing in the field only 🤞

Polly’s owner contacted me yesterday worried as she had noticed Polly wasn’t herself, she was struggling to eat, over salivating and head tilting when eating, went to see her today and found this really sore ulceration to her tongue, polly had shed her baby tooth which had already come out when I got there and was eating better today, she will be feeling a lot happier now she has lost the loose cap, lots of changes in youngsters that’s why most dental technicians recommend 6 monthly check ups

Saddle fitter today for horses thankfully all good there both had gained some top line harms had gained alot so hopefully they will continue to improve now they are more mature

So far June has been all about the geriatric (longer in the 🦷) horses 🐴 from loose molars a incisor and a old fractured, diseased tooth this pony was packing feed into her cheeks to help with the pain all digitally extracted and now all eating much more comfortably

Lovely review from a new client today, and the owner is the creator of the stable environment limited, mags was kind enough to gift me a product for my mare Harmony as she suffers with sweet itch, it contains neem and eucalyptus oils to repel the biting insects whilst soothing the skin

Two wolf teeth and some cap fragments taken out of a 3 year old pony all ready for been started this spring! Her owner knows she is now comfortable in her mouth and will be confident when introducing the bit that she will be comfortable, the wolf tooth removal will prevent the teeth coming into contact with the bit and the loose caps was allowing feed to pack behind, really good practice to get youngsters checked regularly thanks to Hirds and partners for sedation

Panda checking out his teefs 🦷… lucky boy panda has a diligent owner who recognised something wasn’t quite right, here are 3 baby teeth that was all loose with the permanent premolars pushing them out from underneath. Panda will definitely feel more comfortable now the loose teeth are out and his mouth has had a float

Slightly different one this week..a large piece of fractured tooth which appears to have fractured from the incisor to the right in the picture and has been pushed out by the gingiva, this horse had shown absolutely no signs of discomfort when ridden was still eating fine his owners was completely unaware, he had been checked less than a year ago by a EDT. This horse has been referred to the vet for extraction of the fragment and further investigation but really highlights the importance of having your horses teeth checked at least annually
