Good morning!

Heartland Invertebrates & Exotics is now closed for the holidays. We cherish this time with our family and friends, and hope you all do the same.

We will still answer messages as time permits, however, there may be a longer wait time. We will not be doing further shows or private local sales until after the New Year.

We'd like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has come out to support us in 2018. We appreciate each and every one of you, and hope you continue to enjoy many years with the animals you've acquired from us!

We have some very cool things planned for 2019. New projects, expanded show schedule, new customer benefits.

Happy holidays from our family to yours! See you in 2019! :)

When we're asked at shows what the difference between centipedes and millipedes is, Chris often references this cute cartoon, so it's only fitting that we share it here. :)

This is true for any of the "creepy" pets...snakes, spiders, scorpions, roaches...it doesn't have to have fur or big, cute eyes to be endearing. We love seeing and educating the curious kids at the shows we vend!

Start'em young! Do you have kids that love reptiles? Post your pics below!!

Spiders being helpful...and life saving...yet again!

It's World Spider Day! Take some time to love and appreciate our 8 legged friends. :)

Happy World Spider Day!
Today, we reflect on a misunderstood group of animals. Spiders are important creatures in their respective environments, eating pesky insects like mosquitoes and keeping the populations of other invertebrates in check. Their venom has been investigated as a pain killer, and their silk has been used to help repair damaged neurons in humans. If you look closely at a spider, you can see that they are fuzzy, just like puppies, but with four extra legs to love!
