Some friendships (like this one going on ten years) just don't fizzle out!

Get some fresh air and enjoy the outdoors with your pups before it starts getting really, REALLY cold! Happy Friday!
You are so excited to see your dog and your dog is so excited to see you, but you might not want them jumping all over you (or guests) when you first greet each other... So what can you do? Here is a fun, simple tool to give a try!
This is Gunnar and she is a mega-jumper, with a very impressive jump height! To make the transition into the house/out of the crate/etc easier on everyone, we've set up what's called a snuffle mat loaded with treats. This video was only the second time we have tried this method (the first worked wonderfully as well!) and as you can see she bypasses right by me (Kristen) without even a hi so she can get to that mat! After she finished rummaging around for the treats she was much calmer and ready to get going.
Sniffing is very calming for dogs so this is a great activity to use for transitions. There is a wide variety of snuffle mats out there and you can use them for so many things, so we definitely recommend grabbing your pup one or 10!

Trying to enjoy these wet and wild Wednesdays while we still can!
New month, new season arriving and celebrating that it's the weekend. Ya made it!
Watch Trainer Apprentice Dous demonstrate a really nice session of desensitization and counter conditioning — they’re working on changing Wicke’s big feelings about “prey” animals.
If you think this session looks a little boring, that’s a good thing! A dog’s best learning is done when they’re in a nice thinking brain and not over their emotional threshold. Wicke is showing off just how cool, calm, and collected he can be which is exactly what we want.
Play Time
So many of your dogs have gone home so exhausted these last few weeks after big time Adventures, as they should!
