.... EB has passed on

With a very heavy heart I wanted to let those that have known EB's story to know that she has decided it was time to let go and move on. I called her vets today and neither were in ... one out all week and the other out the next few days. But I really didn't think anything more could be done and I wanted her here at home. This morning
while giving her meds she seemed worse. I held her for a bit and put her back in her cage while I did some chores. I went up this afternoon to clean and noticed she was still breathing rapid and hard. I took her out to sit with Sq**rt for a bit and she had no desire to do anything. I put everyone in their cages but her.... she sat on a toweled stand. She came over to me as I bent down to her... she cuddled to my cheek and put her head down for a scritch..... I knew. I told her how much I loved her ... that my life has been blessed to have had her in it. I remember all the days from raising her from a baby, and how comical she always was. She kept me on my toes for sure. I told her she was such a wonderful mommy to Peanut and Poppy and while the flock will not be the same without her I understood if she needed to go. I did not want her to continue to suffer and while I would miss her terribly I wanted her to do what she needed to do. And if that was to let go of this world, it was okay to do so. That precious moment will not be forgotten and I need to keep that very moment as my last thoughts because about 2 minutes after that, I gently lifted her and carried her downstairs with me to go sit peacefully. I saw her color change as her heart gave out and had to watch as her body failed her. I was grateful when she relaxed and was no longer suffering.
*** EB you are Loved and will be greatly missed. Soar High my little angel and may your spirit find peace. You wrapped your little talons around a huge part of my heart and it will always be yours. Rest in Peace Eagle Bird***
