POLICE LOOKING FOR DOG KILLER.

February 8, 2020 was probably the most traumatic day for 8-yr old Jesselyn. She was playing on the balcony all by herself as their family dog Buninay slept nearby when their neighbor Samuel Flores came in and called for her aunt.

Samuel had been complaining about dog p**p in their area, but the Ellaos denied that it was Buninay because the aspin was tied to the balcony area and basically spent her day sleeping and watching over Jesselyn.

That day, however, an enraged Flores who was unable to speak to any of the adults inside the house, stormed off to get a piece of wood before returning to hit the sleeping Buninay.

The dog cried upon being struck and tried crawling away from her attacker but Flores still went after the chained dog who crawled underneath the plants. Flores then hit the dog with such force on the head that blood splattered everywhere as the horrified and speechless child looked on.

Jesselyn is one of our youngest witnesses ever for an animal cruelty case.

Flores has been indicted to stand trial for violating the Animal Welfare Act and the Court has ordered him to pay P12,000 as bail. However, Flores has not shown up for any of the hearings.

The police would appreciate any information on the whereabouts of Samuel Flores- whose photo appears in the poster.

Under the Animal Welfare Act of 1998 (R.A. No. 8485, as amended by RA 10631), it is illegal for anyone to torture, neglect, kill, and mistreat any animal. Any person convicted of this crime shall be punished by imprisonment of one (1) year and six (6) months and one (1) day to two (2) years, and/or a fine not exceeding one hundred thousand pesos (₱100,000), if the mistreated or neglected animal dies.

It is not enough to post photos and videos of cruel acts on Facebook. Witnesses must execute affidavits so that the animal offenders can be charged in the court of law.

Together, let's continue to speak up for abused animals. Animal offenders hardly ever stop with just committing crimes against animals. They usually are a threat to peace-loving communities everywhere. Report all animal offenders to the police. Animal cruelty is everyone’s concern.
