Some of my best training is done in my comfy clothes. I train my own dogs early in the morning and later in the day, and throughout the day as I do my best to balance their training with my schedule.
In 20 years of training dogs, I still cherish working with and training my own dogs. It’s these raw, unfiltered, pj wearing training sessions that our relationship grows. The new behaviors, the tiny little slices that become something so much bigger, the accountability to each other, commitment and respect all happens here.
Nev is showing his “here” behavior, I love the way he shows up…all heart, with all of himself and 100% present. Ahhhh…there’s so much we can learn from our dogs. @robertudolf thanks for sharing your boy.❤️

Today, as we gathered for our TAO DOG Walk & Train, I was reminded of this. We had 11 people at today’s training. It was incredibly moving for me to witness 11 people and their dogs seamlessly navigate a super busy environment. It is a true testament to the relationships you share with your dogs.
This year @taodogyoga we added our Walk & Train, Paddling with your dog Adventure, more hikes each month in new places, Coastal Hike & Picnic and Canine Fitness Classes. We continued our monthly dog yoga class, dog training class and yoga-hikes. We have grown this year and I feel beyond blessed. I’m grateful for your trust in me to lead you and your dogs and that I get to do what I love each day. Thank you❤️

Training with Motivation
I am honored to have the opportunity to train this incredible dog, and the trust of his person.
Our training journey has transitioned from strong off leash obedience to sport obedience. In this video we are working on our formal heeling.
Whenever teaching a dog new behaviors I like to build them in slices. Giving the dog clear steps to reach the end goal or behavior. I find this way of training takes away miscommunication and stress and dogs learn so much quicker. More importantly they have fun, are active participants and motivated to work together.
Working impulse control with “leave it” with my buddy Neville.✨
There are many ways to incorporate impulse control into your dog’s daily life. This exercise teaches both the beginnings of a leave it command and Neville is learning to leave it with out words as well.
Including the command will allow me to then use “leave it” on walks when we see dogs and with other distractions. Super important to teach new skills with low distractions and then add those distractions after, so your dog knows what is expected of them.
This is Neville’s first session with this game. Dogs learn this really quick…it also doesn’t hurt that Neville is a rockstar smart student!🧑🎓😁
