ETC® is a registered trademark and is one of the most prestigious taxidermy competition on earth.

The European Taxidermy Championships® are being held every 3 years and will be moving to another European country every time, if possible. It is a competition open to taxidermists of all experiences and is being held on the highest possible level. Next to the competition it is a moment to gather and meet colleagues, learn new techniques in exciting seminars and stay motivated within our beautiful profession.

Based on feed-back from several taxidermists we have modified the rules in the additional fun and friendly competition, “The National Taxidermy Team Competition.”

The text in bold is the new modified rules:

• A National Taxidermy Team must consist of a multiple of 3 taxidermists (minimum 3, maximum 12).
• Each team must ideally have an equal number of taxidermists with entries in the following divisions: Master, Professional,and Novice.

• If more than 12 taxidermists from one country want to be part of the National Taxidermy Team, the Captain can select the team of 12, with preference given to those with the highest scores in the relevant divisions at previous ETC® events.

It is with deep sadness that we bid farewell to Steve Toher, a cherished member of our taxidermy community. Steve's profound expertise and passion for the craft were unparalleled, leaving an indelible mark on the taxidermy industry and beyond.

For four decades, Steve dedicated himself to his artistry, crafting lifelike representations of nature's wonders, primarily for museums. His meticulous attention to detail and unwavering commitment to accuracy set a standard admired by all who had the privilege of witnessing his work.

Beyond his skillful hands, Steve's warm demeanor and generous spirit endeared him to colleagues and friends alike. His presence illuminated every gathering, infusing it with laughter, camaraderie, and shared passion for our craft.

As we mourn his passing, let us also celebrate the legacy Steve leaves behind—a legacy of excellence, camaraderie, and boundless creativity. Though he may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the masterpieces he created and the memories he etched into our hearts.

The 'ETC® Taxidermy Art Auction'

The online auction platform for ETC® certified taxidermy mounts
ETC® have done a small survey to check the European taxidermists' interest in an online auction platform where they can sell their competition mounts to the public

There are several auction platforms on the market where the public can buy taxidermy mounts, but none have ‘quality-filtered’ the items for sale.

The idea behind the auction.

The idea behind the ETC® online auction platform is that taxidermy mounts done in certified high-quality, become an art. Art is something that the public is willing to buy/invest in, and sometimes the buyer is willing to pay a high price for a piece of art.

It looks like there is a high interest in such a professional window, to present high quality taxidermy art among European taxidermists.

The concept is that only taxidermy mounts that have been judged at the ETC® are qualified for sale at the ETC® Taxidermy Art Auction. The taxidermists selling the mount gets 100% of the selling price from the buyer. On top of the selling price, the buyer pays ETC® a 15% auction fee for the running costs of the online auction.

The advantages for the art buyer.

The advantage for the buyer is full transparency regarding the originality and the quality of the taxidermy art as ETC® judges have officially judged the piece. So, the buyer can check out which ETC® division (Novice, Professional, Master, Excellence) the piece has been judged in, the points given (Blue/Red/Yellow ribbon), and the eventual 'Place' and 'Special Award' obtained.

The advantages for the art seller.

The advantage for the seller (the taxidermy artist) is that his/her work can be displayed professionally to a large audience, without any cost except a little time to upload and register the item at the online auction platform. The seller can set a minimum price for the item, as nobody wants to sell great work at a low price.

Register your ETC® 2023 competition mount and get your voice heard.

When you have registered your competition piece, we will prepare a document that you will receive when you come for submission of your entry on 13th February 2023. With the response from this document, we will enlarge the survey about the interest for the ETC® Taxidermy Art Auction. If the interest is large enough, ETC® will invest in the software and implementation of an online auction platform with a launch of approximately 1st May 2023.

Do you live in the Denmark, Sweden or Norway? Do you want to compete at the ’13th European Taxidermy Championships®’ 2023? But you’re not able to come all the way to Salzburg? No problem!

For all the Danish, Swedish and Norwegian competitors, Like Nature Taxidermy Supply offers the opportunity to take your competition pieces to Salzburg. Taxidermists are offered the chance to deliver the pieces to Like Nature, Randersvej 397 (GPS address Langagervej 2), 8380 Trige in Denmark from 1st – 3rd February. We only have limited space in our truck, so transport-bookings are received on 'first-come-first-served-basis' Do you have any questions about it? Feel free to contact us!

Terms & conditions:

· The pieces need to be dried and finished completely.

· All pieces need to be provided with a fitting transport case

· The pieces must be delivered to our address 1st – 3rd February

· Like Nature is not liable for damage.

· For the service, a small fee to be paid of €50 per piece up to 0,25 m3 volume, 75 EURO per piece up 0,26 - 0,5 m3 volume and 100 EURO per piece 0,51 - 1 m3 volume. For bigger pieces please contact us for price.

· For the delivery of the taxidermy mount, an appointment can be made by email using the contact details below.
